Harry Darling Scouting Report for Last 365 Days Men's Next 14 Competitions | FBref.com
Compare Harry Darling to others in passing, goal scoring, attacking, defense and more for the Last 365 Days Men's Next 14 Competitionsfbref.com
Probably the best attacking centre half in the division. If we were still playing with a 3 at the back, encouraging our CBs to go forward, he'd be great.
As it is, we're looking for a commanding CB to replace Souttar and compliment Anel.
Harry Darling doesn't look like that, his defensive stats don't stack up well against the rest of the division.
I wouldn't mind having him as an option, but for the money it would cost and I'm not sure I'd pursue it.
Are you sure? Normally whenever my missus catches me about to put the footy on she says don't start DarlingDarling a starter Hanley a back up.
I like what you said there. Against the likes of Sunderland, when they've pressed us high up the pitch, we've panicked a bit. So if Darling is comfortable on the ball, then hopefully that can improve that particular problem.Yeah that's stuff I'd considered too, but I think it's down to the role he has to play at Swansea.
Judging from a few displays this season, he's definitely not shy of getting in the way of a player or a shot and he's been like a brick wall for them when needed.
Thing is with Swansea, they're always faffing about at the back and hogging possession without really going anywhere...they've averaged 61% in the championship this year, which I think skews Darling's defensive stats a little, as he's not usually having as much involvement as other teams' defenders might.
Not only that..they've actually had 17536 touches this season so far and a staggering 13886 of those have been in the Defensive 3rd or Midfield 3rd.
I think he's a cracking all round player, can carry the team forward and be an outlet when required (be nice to have competition/back up for Anel if they can't play together for any reason) but can also do the backs to the wall stuff...it's just that he gets little chance to do so at Swansea because they're too busy being, well, Swansea.
Agree with you about the cost though, if he's available for £5m or less and wants less than £30/40k then absolutely sign him...but if it's considerably more than it'd definitely need further consideration
I'd rather Darling to be honest. If our interest in Omobamidele is legit but ultimately unsuccessful Darling would be a much more logical alternative in terms of style of play than someone like Hanley
Some reports that Bristol City and Birmingham are interested, might just be agent talk but if it is genuine, then I'm baffled if we're not keen too.
More blocks than a box of lego.
Gets caught out for one of the chances but recovers really well and makes the block anyway
Absolutely...Have you got one for the 4-0 loss to Pompey.
One of the goals it appeared that he dillied then dallied.

I hereby state, with witnesses, that I'll drop my kecks on Fargate if he signs for us this month
We’ve been chatting with the bit of him he left on Brewster.Have we made contact with him after he made contact with Brewster?
That’s my only concern it gives us depth which is fantastic. But that would still leave us a left side centre half short. If we can't get a top Championship defender with Prem potential, it makes sense to get two very decent Championship defenders that are out of contract soon.
Not meaning to be greedy, but Darling and Dunne give us strength in depth where we're very weak.
