if we dont land jjk i think we will go for dunne and of the centre backs were being linked with woofenden would be my choice although harry darling is also the right age for us

We'll be getting Kenny for RB so it would only be one of Dunne or Darling

Don't get Kenny, then I'd gladly take both, stick Dunne RB and play hoof it to Jimmy

Dunne and Darling is also a viable CB partnership

Darling and Anel.... not so much. I'd see Darling as a possible replacement for Anel. His possible departure is another reason we should look to strengthen permanently in the right defensive area. We only have Anel and Seriki contracted and there are doubts about both. This scenario with Dunne and Darling out of contract is something we could look to exploit
Or still sign Kenny and both of these....but send Gilchrist back as Dunne covers both the positions he does but better and would be our player.

I didn't appreciate Darling goes on a free this Summer, so it should be a fairly low risk signing. It definitely strengthens an area that's needed.
I'm not sure he's the right type of CB (per previous post), but it's not a bad option.

At 25, there's a fair bit of upside to the deal.
If he's available for as cheap as I'd imagine, it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick him up regardless of bringing in a more physical CB.

It would surely be good planning to be looking beyond Jack Robinson and Darling could work great in a 3 at LCB. Would provide some versatility.

It’s clear we have a strategy to get as many as the incomings players with options so if we do get promoted we can offload restively cheaply and rebuild a PL squad.

Another ball playing CB can benefit us if we plan on sticking Hamza and Vini together. Having someone that can play a forward pass from the back directly into the forwards or into Hamer (better than Robinson can) will get us up the pitch quicker.

Yep. It's the type of CB signing that makes the Choudhury signing make sense.

hurry up sign him coz robbo needs help we need a younger central defender with warrior capitano robbo to help him out we need another cover no5 who wins headers and got bite we will never replace soutts and JOC and egan they was special like chris morgan was but get this lad in hes a bit firey we really need more pace coz our back cant deal with speedy wingers/strikers me id get a huge no5 to scare everyone but needs to be good in the air like harry is me id get a powerhouse no5 with pace and power he will be ok

Isn’t he right footed?

He's not going to arrive in time for Saturday I'd doubt even if he was suspension free so he'd only be missing one match after Saturday.

I'm only basing the above on the lack of jungle drums on fee agreed, personal terms agreed, then there's the two days delay after everything has been agreed for no particular reason that we always have etc!
