Wilder's thinking will be the following
We can't replace Souttar properly. So to compensate for that we need to find the most defensive defensive midfielder we possibly can - and play him WITH Souza. That's Choudhury
To compensate for an impressive level of uncreativity in CM we'll try to add a bit more width - that's where Kenny comes in at RB
Then with Brereton's arrival we can move Hamer to a place he'll be more effective, and aim towards scoring up to 2 goals in a good number of games, with the new 10m striker knocking in around 3 or 4
If the attackers somehow don't manage to provide the required number of goals, then the new CB can step up to the plate and become our main attacking weapon
Another mid season reshuffle, prompted by injuries. Will it work? We're up against a different level of competition this time so I'd say probably not. 'But we'll see, and it'll be interesting to see how it unfolds'...
