I said at the time Brooks was so poor against Swansea, it was as though he was still ill.
So it doesn’t surprise me.
Yeah, also don’t think it was the right game for him even if he was firing, we switched at half time to allow both the full backs to bomb on…

Yeah then followed it up with to be all done by / in time for friday.

Either way, available for Hull
Stand out quote when asked about Cannon by last jurno was “if we get this over the line”. Dint sound done yet. Probables reading to much into comments but this would be a disaster if owt stopping it, maybe a double deal with HC?

Nah, that was just him remembering to hedge his bets. The standout quote was earlier on, "I'm sure that Tom Cannon will be done in time for Friday"

Brooks form has been interesting this season.
He either seems to put in impressive 8 out of 10 performances or 4 out of 10 performances.

Maybe it’s the winger role because Rak Sakyi has been similar, altho with Sakyi he can be a poor 4 out of 10 for most of the match
Then out of the blue he produces some high quality magic and we score. He’s that type of player, generally doesn’t produce much but has this rare ability of producing moments of genuine Premier league quality. Compare this to Brewster, who always seem to be a solid/ consistent 6 or 7 out of 10.

Really looking forward to seeing Cannon, it seems he has a similar style to Billy Sharp, in that he’s a proper striker who stays up field but is heavily reliant on his team mates creating chances. I’ve read feedback on the Stoke forum and it’s generally

“he’s not big, not particularly good in the air or quick, doesn’t link well, doesn’t pass, doesn’t particularly work hard so can look lazy”
‘In fact he doesn’t do much in a game apart from always looking to score, he strikes a ball well and tends to score goals”.

The feedback reminds me of a young Billy Sharp or young Keith Edwards.

It's not a double deal and the stand out comment from Wilder is that he's registered and hoping to have him available for Hull. What i heard yesterday was that it's all done, which ties in, there was just one thing to sort on Cannon's side. Appreciate that contradicts what I've also written, but didn't seem to be an issue, just something to sort

I find that wingers generally are the ones most likely to blow hot and cold in equal measure.

Seeing Brooks playing out wide and being so inconsistent, reminds me of the likes of Cotterill and Campbell-Ryce. Both of whom could beat teams pretty much single-handed on their day, but could easily have everything they try go wrong the next week.

Hopeful? Hopeful?
Surely this is just mind games to keep the Hull manager guessing.
The deadline to register players for the Hull game is 12 noon today
But it doesn’t mean Cannon needs to be officially announced before 12 noon.

Due to recent matches and the injuries, they won’t have a clue who’s playing for us, so won’t be able to prepare as well.
Their defenders will likely be confused being given advice on how to cope against half a dozen of our attacking players.

Totally agree. Brilliant examples,
Cotterill and Campbell-Ryce were both world beaters on their day. Not exaggerating…at their best, think both were PL standard.
However Cotterill and Campbell-Ryce could be incredibly poor too and go missing.

Remember Cotts standing out, having a Sereki effect when coming on as sub under Blackwell but whenever he started matches he was never as good.
JCR always seemed to have this cycle of 1 game world beater followed by 4 games crap….1 game brilliant 4 games crap.

The thing in Brooks favour is that he’s more adaptable to playing a more midfield role and he can also be decent out of possession.
So when Brooks has an off day confidence wise, he still generally contributes regards his work rate and tackling.

When Cotts and JCR were having an off day, it was like being down to 10 men.

I can’t imagine we’re really that bothered about playing mind games with Hull!

Im not sure how it works at pro level, but when i was involved at lower league levels, you could log onto the S&H website to see who was registered with the team you were playing and i think who was also available due to suspension etc.

If its the same at Pro level, you might be able to log on to the system at 12:05pm and see if hes registered?

This was a few years back and i believe somethings have changed, but if it is still the same, the main question could be (which is still very valid for planning), will he be starting, on the bench or not involved.

We are second in the table. Playing good football. At home Friday night. Bang in form. Hull blow hot and cold. Let's start been bullish. Too hell with mind games. Whoever plays, get on the pitch and do it.
Leeds seem to have that attitude.
