Andre Brooks

Brooks well and truly staked his claim today to a regular start. Not everything he tries comes off but he contributes plenty in terms of creativity. Took his goal well, kept trying and nearly got a tremendous assist with his dribble and reverse pass for O’Hare’s chance in the second half. Suggestions on here that he’s not Championship class or even that he needs to go out on loan are well wide of the mark. Well done, lad.

MOM today for me regardless of the goal. He tries things and they don’t always come off but he’s definitely seems to try and get it forward as often as possible.

Him and Davies worked well I thought.

Yeah played well today. We need to drive/run at the opposition. Our forward play is err pretty shit. If we had some fit goalscorers hey we might be dangerous!

That was the best any of our forward players have played for a while, it also seemed to bring out the best in O'Hare as well. He won't do that every week but he has to stay in the side now.
Second half he was the standout first other than the goal nah

Brooks put in a good performance for 85 minutes. He seems to be one of those players that comes to life when he starts a game but less so when he has to come off the bench for a 15-20 minute cameo. He proved today he can compete at this level but has to be more consistent. He's young still developing and has a great left foot as his goal proved. Just once in a while during the game the manager needs to switch him to the left to take advantage of his natural foot capability to get the ball in from the bye line.

What he does bring to the team is work rate and the ability to win the ball back in the middle where we struggled today. He also provides good cover for Gilchrist down the right where there have been gaps recently. Stays in the team for the next few games so an opportunity to kick on.

Brooks should never have been dropped, he was the M. O. M for me today every bit of the good play that we did came through Brooks.

He is the very type of player we have been crying out for he always looks to play on the front foot and go at the opposition he was exactly what we were crying out for against Burnley.

He was doing well before he was hooked from the first team as his finishing was sub standard, approach work was good but couldn’t finish his dinner or find the right pass for an end product. Today when starting,a shining light,he did more work today than Jesuran did in his previous 5,the talent is there definitely.

Much better than JRS has been for the last few games. Brooks tracks back and keeps the ball better no surprise to see Gilchrist under less pressure today. Took his goal well. His shirt for the next few games at least. 👏👏
This all day long, he is much more of a help to Alfie than Rak saki, consequently he plays better

He played well, but up until today, since got concussion at Norwich, he's not affected games when he's come on.

It's worth listening to Wilders post match interview. He speaks about the reasons why Brookes hasn't been getting much game time

He had a 20-30mins spell today as good as any player this season. Every run came off beating several players process, right choices made and perfectly weighted & placed passes (one key one to O'Hare led to him doing his usual - one touch too many and then panicked/closed his eyes when he's about to be challenged).

As I saw it anyway, appreciate that we can all see games and performances very differently.

Widz is furious. " Thanks for making me look like a c"

Well done today Dre, and a fair few of your teammates. Its easy to showboat when you're flying, less so when you're short of first teamers and need to dig in. Isn't it Gus??

If it’s true that he was told he needed to show more to earn his spot then I’d say he’s done that today. It only makes sense now from a man management point of view to reward him with the shirt moving forward and tell him it’s his to lose.

Having Brooks and Rak-Sakyi for the same position.

All that's needed now is someone for that LW position. Insert BBD?

First half he suffered from being played on the wrong wing - he is a LW who can't do owt when blocked on the R touchline - but when he runs with the ball he's great.
Please CW give him some time on the LW and you'll be amazed how successful he can be.
And Hamer would be much better on his R foot on the R side - he even managed to get Brewster the goal at Millwall by crossing from the R.

Mom by a country mile today. Playing so long when not match fir could risk his fitness. Think it was needs must today.

He's been kept out of the team by Rak-Sakyi
He was head and shoulders above JRS today.

I’ve got a felling come JTW that JRS will be off. Only a feeling in my tomorrow watter, nowt ITK

What a show of character to perform like he did today. Real real talent.

JRS is superb and probably a fair bit better than Brooks, but that’s his shirt to lose now. If we’re so insistent on only playing 1 actual winger at a time that is.

i hope he is 56 dont rate him and the last 4/5 games he played has looked totally disinterested send him back if we can weve got a better player in brooks

If you want to know why Brooks hasn't been playing...

"Andre Brooks was outstanding. He needed to do more Monday to Friday in training - but I was delighted for him to get that goal."

Would love to see him on the left wing or even in the attacking midfielder role. His ability to pick up the ball and drive through the midfield is something we lack
