One thing I’ve been a little surprised about with Tom is how fast he is. Were a few moments last night where he showed a good burst of pace.

I think the biggest thing for me is how much it not only meant to him, but how happy every single player - starting 11, bench or otherwise - was for him. The interaction between him and Brewster, the hug with McCallum, how happy the academy lads like Peck were.

He's really bed himself in well with this squad and I think could play a key role this season and beyond

He's got the best pedigree of anyone else in squad, if he wasn't so injury prone he wouldn't be with us. I find it equally baffling when I see people saying Walker wouldn't be good enough for us.

I think what came across in his latest interview was how much he’s making an effort to be there for other players in the dressing room to try and get them to talk to him and to open up if they’re struggling not only in a professional context but also in their personal lives. There’s lots of different ways to lead and a great team probably needs a blend of different characters and leadership styles it’s great to see and hear about.
