Still think Campbell would fit better playing on the right, but Rak-Sayki has it locked down.

Campbell is much better played centrally for me.

As one or two others have noted, his goals have had more than a bit of Billy Sharp about them, and the comparison comes mainly from him making the right runs through the middle, into the box. Play him on the right and we’d hamper his ability to do that, while curbing the goalscorer’s instinct that gets him in the right place at the right time.

Plus, like earlier career Bill, his all-round contribution outside the penalty area is not the most impactful. Keep him central, and gerriminbox!

Often our best signings have been frees! Notably Fleck, Didzy, Duffy and maybe add Campbell to that! Early days but he reminds me of Tony Agana.

Just looks like he has finally found a club & a manager that works for him. Sometimes it’s hard to explain why some players are poor at some clubs and then come good at another. A lot of credit for Wilders man management skills. Don’t forget this lad has also just come through the tragic loss of his father just in June this year, so I’m really pleased for him (and us) that this move has reignited his career. Hope he keeps this up.

Looks like a great signing. I’m upgrading him from my earlier comment of a cross between Craig Beattie and Marcus Bent mk2 to a cross between James Beattie and Marcus Bent mk1.
