Peck and Burrows really good tonight. 2nd half was a big improvement. We look so much better when we move the ball faster. Brooks and Moore have to score with the chances they had. Got to be happy with the first 8 games, especially as there is still a lot of room for improvement. UTB!

blades: big chances created 4 big chances missed 4 Swans 1 - 1

very strange game. they say you need luck through a season & we got that. not many more undeserving 1-0 HT leads than that

dreadful 1st 30 mins & yet get a lead at half time. then much more like it 2nd half & yet so unlucky where we couldve had arguably 3 goals hit the bar & post didnt score. football such a funny game sometimes

Pretty mediocre stuff, threatened briefly early in the second half, but will take the three points.

And that is why you never, ever bet 0-0 correct score
Glad I did on Saturday it was 12/1

The match that had us miss placing way too many passes, struggled in the middle of the park, outplayed by an average Swansea, missed glorious chances albeit. 1-1 would have been a fair reflection on the game. We were very sloppy, Swansea looked lively, they need a goal scorer though. That game!!
How were we out played? Other than a complete fluff by their player missing a pretty easy chance most their play wasn't threatening whatsoever and we had a number of good chances to make it a very comfortable finish?

Making more chances doesn't mean you out played your opponents. We spent most of the first half on the back foot. Second half better but we gave them more space than we should have. I'm not the only one on here that think we treated them
like they were Real Madrid. Against better opposition we are going to get battered giving teams that much space and time. Yes we had better, way better chances but if we had won three nil, it would have flattered us. Luckily pass it nicely but have no punch at all.

I thought it was typical Swansea v Sheffield United. We let them have the ball and hurt them on the break. That was clearly our game plan along with pressing to win it high up at times and if we scored one or two of the good chances we had it would have been done to perfection!

Just because they had lots of the ball without doing anything much they outplayed us? For me it's about creating and taking chances and although we didn't take any we created far more!

Agree...must be so frustrating being a Swansea fan.

They knock the ball about like Man City but all their attacks are so slow and all their build up play involves tippy tap pass after pass after pass.
They were much better on the ball than us and looked a Premier league standard team regards passing but it's like they're trying to walk the ball into the net. Our fans wouldn't accept it and they'd be booed because apart from 1 great chance never looked like scoring all night.

I kept saying through out the 2nd half that Swansea were toothless and you can't see them scoring.
Their only threat was when they had corners and free-kicks and with big Harry Soutter and Anel they were never going to score from set pieces.

We were outplayed for most of that game. Sitting back and hitting them on the break is not out playing the opposition. Out smarting, maybe. We have better players than they do. Hamer, O'Hare and Brooks underperformed tonight. Defensively we were excellent. Up front, we should be creating 10, 12 15 chances a game. We were outplayed, not by much, but we were outplayed. Swansea lacked a goal threat otherwise we would have lost that game.

Don't think you understand tactics.
Swansea are probably the best passing team in the league but have zero threat because their attacks are too slow and they over pass.
So Wilder let them have it because he knew they were never going to threaten us.

Against Swansea you can allow them space....so we did it.
Against a more dangerous team obviously we wont allow them space.

See where you're coming from regards 3-0 might have flattered us....but that's mainly based on the worse 1st half performance of the season. Hardly anything happened but I said to those around me that Swansea look great in their passing and build up play but our defence is coping with them so easily.
Apart from 1 great chance they never looked like scoring.

There's no denying we were the better team and thoroughly deserved the win.....at the end 1-0 was unjust....should have been 2 or 3-0.

We are beating the teams we should be with the quality we have…

The proper test will come against the teams currently occupying the top 6.

I reckon we finish 8th this season and I would be happy

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Happy for the three points

i thought swansea were only dangerous when we kept handing possession back very cheaply causing our own problems & once we were back to normal 2nd half. swansea were rarely in it

Agree we currently over relying on quality individual goals or OG
but the main factor we're beating teams is because we have the best defence in the league.
That's 5 clean sheets in a row and our goalie (who is really good) has had little to do.
In fact since Soutter has joined the back 4 alongside Anel.....we haven't conceded a single goal.

Can see plenty more clean sheets this season.
The problem is against the good teams we're likely to concede a goal.
So the question is can we score 2 or 3 goals? at the moment goalscoring looks a concern.

Assuming we don't spend anything significant in January
I reckon we'll finished 4th or 5th and I'd be disappointed.
I can imagine use winning the play-off semi again and having another visit to Wembley....we're well overdue a historic win there.

Call me greedy but wouldn't it be lovely to win a home game by two goals!

Swansea were neat and tidy without cutting edge. Frustrating from our point of view was our inability to get a grip of the game before half time. We gave away the ball too many times. The lack of on field communication and problem solving was revealing. Shackleton Brooks and O'Hara were not connecting. Shackleton's positional sense and reading of the game was poor. Brooks looked lost in the first half.

The amount of times the Swansea keeper kicked out long to our right hand side and Swansea players were able to take down the ball and play other players forward was nuts.

The first two times it happened Swansea ended up getting a free kick at the edge of our box. At kick outs Shackleton and Brooks were too far away from players and not alert enough to read what was happening. Burrows and Hamer are on a different level in this area. Gilchrist is a better option at right back. A good bit of coaching work is needed to gel the team.

I was impressed with Swansea and to be fair they had us chasing shadows in that 1st half. We were a disgrace really and regards overall ability we were being taught a lesson...so can understand the "outclassed" statement and I give credit to Swansea for their 1st half high press, as soon as they lost the ball they battled hard to win it back meaning they dominated possession.

Then I realised it was all eye candy......tippy tippy Pep style passing it around like Man City....but Swansea had no substance/ threat.

It reminded me of the early Robson style of football, keep possession passing it around but hardly threaten.
Jukanovic also played that style but our fans want goalmouth action instead of looking pretty dominating the centre circle area.

If we played like Swansea every week....you can gaurantee most of our fans would boo them.

We let their goalie play out and land some lovely passes - we should have pressed him more effectively

Swansea were exactly as Wilder predicted.

I heard a fan say we did'nt deserve the win on the way out...............eh if we had a little bit more luck it could have 5-1..............Swansea had alot of the ball but you have to do summat with it.

Only unbeaten side in the league. Best defence in the league. Winning games but still people want to moan, moan, moan.
Just being realistic, not moaning. Job half done so far. We have a strong defence, but how will our goal scorers do against PL opposition?
