I don't think he's been that bad, far from the defeatist whinger who was throwing people under the bus and complaining about lack of resources when he left before. He's obviously not happy but rather than looking beaten he seems up for the challenge with whatever he's got to work with, hopefully that doesn't change when the season starts as everyone currently seems quite in it together.

If the takeover had gone through, I hear he wouldn’t have been in the job. So he’s her and getting us to the first game of the season
You obviously know more than most about this takeover and the way the new owners will run the club, please tell us more......?

Nothing more to tell unfortunately. That part is pretty well known to be fair m

When a new regime takes over they often get rid of the manager, unless he’s been very successful. I can see Wilder going when/if we are taken over, unless we are performing very well. Look at those idiots at Birmingham, for example, sacking Eustace and bringing in Rooney. That went well.

Wilder looked fuming heading down the tunnel 🤣
Fuck him, cunt. People make the effort, spend the money and the wanker turns a team out like that away from home, a team that's new, the old players have zero confidence anyway, gel a team, get winning games, he can get right to fuck tonight the prick.

Tbf, Wilder has done this every single cup competition of every season. Anybody who made the effort and paid money should well know it wasn't going to be a strong 11.

Hes never been in a position really like this though with a complete new build team alongside players with zero confidence after last year. It's a wasted opportunity, it's appalling management. No other way to put it.

Opportunity for what?

First season he joined were essentially the same albeit in a lower league with worse players.

He found a system that worked and rode the wave to the maximum, can’t blame him for that at all. Personally think he just cannot fathom how to play 4 at the back, but knows 5 at the back is history as everyone knows the way to beat his tactics whilst playing it. Tricky spot.

I agree he should have used this game to gel more of the first team together BUT he never has done. Not even sure he did it in the early days in League 1 during that rebuild. He puts youth out and gets out the cup early doors.

I'd have thought some more game time for the first team even if its just for one half is better than none.

There are some very angry people on here tonight it seems....

Blimey we lose a league cup game and the toys come out of the pram properly.

I'd have preferred us to win obviously, but when the sting of being called a dee daa subsides, it's not the end of the world going out tonight. There are positives in not being involved in the league cup, namely no potential injuries in the mickey mouse cup.

I was of this opinion for the first round, it may be more beneficial to let out strongest 11 get some game time. However two things stood out for me since then.
1. The two cb's of the Wrexham game were our two for Norwich. It was handy they had that game together.
2. One notable weak point was our subs in games. A lack of fitness for our best back up players has meant they probably got less minutes than they would have done if fit. Therefore not effecting results as much.
There is a fairly good argument for fielding the teams we did imo.

A cup that would probably the best day ever in you're football supporting life if you saw us win it. And that is a FACT

ok as a fan you know you pays your money and you takes your chances but that tonight was as bad as I’ve seen. What advise did Wilder give to Davies, that made the player just shuffle the ball round his penalty area for seemingly ages for no apparent reason.

I’m obviously no football tactician just a paying fan but that was miles away from anything I want to see from my team.

How much longer does he persist with Coulibaly ?

Tonight showed we should be shipping a lot of players out on loan or out of the club.

To try and build a team winning mentality, gel the new players in, try get some confidence back in the squad, how much clearer do you want me to fucking make it ffs
Thanks.

A lot of players got minutes, not sure what “gel the new players in” is as most of the side was changed from first team, rightly so.

Playing young lads and fringe players, which we had to do in this game has its downsides and we looked physically second best tonight. Far from a drama.

We play an in form Watford on Sunday, that’s priority.

No that's incorrect on your part. Best footballing days for me.... ( that i will ever have personally) that would be Darlington away in 1981 for the fourth division title, or 5 May 1990 away at Leicester. They will always be the best days of my footballing supporting life. And as I know me more than you know me, I think you should just accept that.... that is a FACT.

Yes Chris... gutted for the fans and all that. Give it a rest, if you really wanted to win the game against local rivals you would not have put that team out.

It’s annoyed me tonight. 5000 Blades made the effort, Wilder knew that, and should have put a side in my opinion.

I also fully agree with the opportunity to gel thing. You can see we’ve struggled with so many new faces in the first three games, so why not take the opportunity to play them together, especially as we don’t play til Sunday.

It might only be the league cup, but it’s still a chance to play a local side with a bit of something to the game and I’m annoyed we didn’t turn up.

Yeah massive priority ain't it, absolutely pathetic mentality. Would you rather see us win the league cup or get promoted? Yes I know it's unlikely but honest answer please?

So getting promoted would be better than winning a major trophy? Seriously?
