Hamer - Next Season

We would be mad to sell to a promotion rival, it would be hard enough selling him to a team in the Prem but to Leeds would be madness, I just can’t see the new owners sanctioning this.

Even if he wants to go to Leeds, I don’t think he’d fully strop if we told him no and forced him to stay. I don’t know him personally but not sure how it would benefit him sulking for 4 months. If we sell him to Leeds it will be a massive punch to the gut, but unfortunately money talks and Leeds have lots of it. I rate Hamer as one of the best players I’ve seen at the lane, so if I was in charge at Leeds I would spend 30 on him and boost his wages as I think he seriously increases chances of promotion.

It would be absolutely typical of United to sell at the 12th Hour thou a la Berge?
There’s a big difference tho

Berge was entering the final year of contract, refused to sign, so it was sell or recoup £0 from £20m. (And as we saw even with SB in a team still gets relegated )

Hamer has years left, is seemingly settled (oHare) and we hold all the cards

It’s £30m and he has to publicly hand in transfer request, or keep them hanging for a few days then fuck em off with no time to find an alternative - dirty Leeds scum

Out of all our players I would prefer Anel to go, two reasons to raise some much needed money and secondly I cannot forget him giving up last season. Pathetic! Mind you his dad says..................................................

Well said!

Players like Hamer, players that others in your own division covet, you’re better off with the asset than the money.

The team doesn’t need 30m spread across it.

It would benefit from having a player that we may value at 30m, as no way are you bringing one into the team from elsewhere.

Someone who gets double figures in goals and assists at this level is like golddust.

I’d go insofar as saying he isn’t for sale to anyone else in this division.

Different if he’s angling for a move and it’s a top tier team, then you might have a problem.

But handing the initiative straight to a rival. No siree.

30m?

Hamer joined for one reason only. You were in the Prem. Never set the world alight in the Prem. Now back in the Championship is being played out of position and getting taken off early. These games won't add value. Luckily to get 18m. With a 10% sell on clause you will make 1.2m profit. Or you keep a player that wants to leave and then expect 100% effort each game.

I suppose it would come down to which club he would see as having the best chance of promotion. Or maybe even a last minute bid by a lower down Prem side.

Not happening so wouldn’t worry. The only way it would is if he said he wanted to go there like Bogle which he hasn’t.

Are we still looking to move Souza on instead?

Still salty I see, he’s being pulled as he’s not had a full preseason, he was good last season in a very poor team probably the only highlight. He’s ywars in his contract, he’s not going this window.

We just turned down the bid, on SS now from Leeds, there’s absolutely no way we’re selling to Leeds. We don’t have a reputation of selling players cheaply under the current owner.

Jog on.

Don't be so sure. He left us last minute to join yourselves not leaving any time at all to get a replacement.

Berge just gone for £25m, and most blades who have seen them would say Hamer is better

Oriley from Scot Prem(EFL equivalent)£25m

Hamer tied to long term contact, so yeah for me it’s £30m

Don’t let the bitterness of Hamer and oHare cloud your judgement - both stepped up to us, and will probably step up from us one day

In terms of clubs, Coventry to Sheffield United is a step up.
I think The Blades have more chance of promotion than Leeds
We're on the way up. Good squad that has been put together by reinvesting. No money owed. New owner wants what's best for our club. Similar size stadiums. Ours will be about full all season depending on away support selling their allocation. Arguably the best manager in the Championship.

Your takeover might happen. It might not. It could be a great takeover. It could be a disaster. You're welcome to it. We've had over 30 years of diabolical ownership. Give me a steady club any day.

If Leeds got Hamer they would play him in his best position and would go up automatically.

You feeling alright dear?

You feeling alright dear?
Yes dear 🥰

Has anyone actually looked at the stats for O'Hare? His only consistent bit of form was when coming back from a near 2 years out injured. Then he tailed off and couldn't get back into the side even though we had lots of injuries. Good at dead ball situations and very good at running at defenders but bang average at just about everything else.

Agree, their motivation is generally based on spite and envy.
I can never figure out who is that bothered that they'll go through the effort signing up to another teams forum for a player signing. Who the fuck has the time and the arse to even do that.

Even if Hamer goes to Leeds I'll never go look on their forum and comment

Go and build a Jaguar or a Land Rover and stop talking shite.

Over 100 posts on here (!!!) Please explain to me, PLEASE, you utter lunatic, why you think anyone on here cares about what crowds Coventry will get this season? Do you think anyone outside of Coventry gives even a modicum of a flying fuck about your no mark club?

Hamer = very envious. Best CM in the Championship.

O'Hare = meh. Good player for winter games though. Has you in and out of your seats frequently to keep you warm but loses the ball most of the time. But occasionally scores a cracking goal. More of a luxury player. But he will win you games

Keep an eye on how many goals he is involved in and how many times his mistakes cost you goals. Normally very close.

So as a attacking midfielder, he’s good & very good at the things he should do, but only average at the things he shouldnt

yet lives rent free in ya heed😂

Honestly can say I’ve never felt a desire to go on the derby forum and tell them little Ben runs a lot but isn’t very good

You appear to have missed the point. Like most supporters we're able to assess whether a player is going to be a good addition.

What puzzles many of us is why you dedicate the time to coming on here to tell us stuff we already know?
