Egan was crap in a back 4Really missed Egan’s organisation and timing yesterday. Early days but Jack looked nervy and exposed in a 4. While he leads with fearlessness and commitment, neither he nor Anel replace what we’ve lost with Egan in decision-making and instructing others around him. Maybe Souttar will offer some of that but don’t really understand the logic of letting an accomplished player still in his prime leave.
This same thing happened with Egan in the team though. We conceded so many late goals under Slav. Organisation was the issue, I agree there but that comes from the manager. There’s enough quality in Anel, Souttar, Trusty, Robbo & Gilchrist (players who can play CB) to not let a two goal slip so easilyReally missed Egan’s organisation and timing yesterday. This reasoning makes me wonder if you watched Egan play much. He had many strengths but he wasn’t an organiser, he never was.Really missed Egan’s organisation and timing yesterday. Agreed although I would love to have McBurnie with this line up.Egan was great in a 5 with Bash and O'Connell, was a great servant and made up a cracking song. He also in the last few years was regularly exposed for pace and was repeatedly justifiably criticised and almost unplayable in a back 4.
It'll quickly get very boring if after every poor result Egan's suddenly become Maldini, Wes Lev Yashin and McBurnie Lewandowski.
Burnley after Egan.
??? I know ???They might be but he is still a free agent at the moment.
??? I know ???
No chance….. might not be match fit until November. If we sell Anel I would try and get him back as a leader in the dressing room who knows the place inside out and cheap cover for Souttar.
Your response makes me wonder if you understand the difference between a fact and an opinion. This reasoning makes me wonder if you watched Egan play much. He had many strengths but he wasn’t an organiser, he never was.
I've heard it could be later than that, if ever at all....No chance….. might not be match fit until November.
Egan was largely absent last season and I don’t think we’d have conceded 100+ with him in the side, purely from a mentality perspective.like many ageing players match ratings tumble and legs get slower
fantastic servant for us but football marches on to a new tune. the more we can delete from last seasons horror squad the better
I think if there was a reasonable chance of him being match fit before Christmas we would have given him another year.
Ah maybe so, a lot was left open to interpretation. I didn't get the impression that Egan was still in talks like McB was but could just have got the wrong end of the stick.I thought we did offer him a deal just he and McBurnie turned their offers down over the summer.
Burnley desperate for centre backs. They must have dropped below 10 temporarily! Now training with Burnley
'cos he was (sadly) crocked and not getting any younger?Really missed Egan’s organisation and timing yesterday. Early days but Jack looked nervy and exposed in a 4. Remember this happened with us and Villa a few years back, although pleased we beat Leeds to everyone this transfer window! Are Burnley trying to sign every player we've had or been interested in? When's Norwood going to be announced there?

Both would do a good job for PrestonI reckon Hecky and McCall will be talking to Egan (and possibly Norwood)
Agree with most of that except that tuneless dirge of a "Song".Egan was great in a 5 with Bash and O'Connell, was a great servant and made up a cracking song. He also in the last few years was regularly exposed for pace and was repeatedly justifiably criticised and almost unplayable in a back 4.
