Looking at the back of his jacket, I'd say he has no boundaries and can go where he wants 😉
you what know what turns out that guy with luggage was seemingly 1 of souza friend as he chatting with him making plans for later as i waited as my niece wanted a picture

i almost feel bad for slagging him off last yr as souza was really nice & polite, patient with fans.

He was waving to him at one stage. My Portuguese isn't great but I assumed it might be Souza's gear he had rather than his own.

Missed the 2nd half as daughter has swimming lesson on Sat afternoon. But was pleased with the 1st half showing overall. Very happy with the shape, even if the XI wasn't what we're likely to see at Preston.

Full backs both did great pushing forward and creating width. Thought Traore looked promising playing off the left, even if it's against weaker opposition.

Shame about the mistake for their goal, but better that it happen in pre-season if it has to happen.

Don't think anyone played outright badly. Vini perhaps was disinterested, but if he's slated to leave then perhaps that's not all that surprising. Hopefully we've targeted someone to replace him already, as we don't really have anyone else well suited to that role of a ball-winner.

How did Buyabu do at left back? I'm a big fan of his, would love to see him on the fringes of the first team.

Remember him covering well a few times first half when they got in behind with long balls. Some forward runs first half, but to be fair it was pretty scrappy across the board for the first 45 and their half was hard to see from my POV. Nobody really stood out first 45 though.

Osula was playing like a left winger most of time, quick feet and played with confidence. Was getting upset with himself, glad he scored he looked chuffed.

it is depressing despite the victory that was the 1st time ive seen us win in person since 9th december & the 1st time we would a competitive game since 10th February. 😄

the 1st 25 mins we were concerning, anel & robbo had been abit rusty. but i thought that the longer we played, the better we got. & in the 2nd half york never really tested us. & we shouldve won by more, Brewster had a great chance but keeper pulled off a great save & osula shouldve had 2 before that fantastic finish from the edge of the box

Freckleton looked gorgeous. Tidy player.

I was really impressed with him. Good communication too - came across as a leader.

How did Brewster play?

Some nice touches, but not massively involved. He hit one first-time shot really well, but was denied by a very good save. Looked injured at one point but it seemed to be something to do with his feet / boots (not hamstring).

Er.......
Let's not get carried away. Not seen any "highlights" of this one, didn't go.
I don't mind if people want to have a half full glass, but this was York City. Not the York City of old who played at Bootham Crescent and pootled around in the 3rd and 4th tier. This is non-league York City, playing a side who 2 and a bit months ago were in the Premier league. We managed to go behind against them. It was a narrow victory.
Just saying, like.

Am I the only one who does not know where DCL's mate Davies is?
Have been avoiding most things whilst Wilder is still in charge.

Wilder said post match that Tom Davies is in Germany getting treatment for a fairly serious midterm hamstring injury.

Will be out for the midterm at the very least, doubt we will see much of him this season.

Nice to hear from Peter Duffield who was doing the co-comms.
He said we have enough players to mount a challenge and I agree.
But then with the right tactics we could have stayed up last year and we never looked like it.
Started off well today playing the ball down the lines instead of tippy tappy mindless across the back.
Then old habits returned and the first goal came as against Spurs - playing at the back, taking risks and paying for it.
Great finish from the impressive Sinclair.
I quite enjoyed it. See how we get on next week against a higher level we think.
Christ you've got to be optimistic with apparent bids for Vini - although for me he is played out of position too deep.

Like any preseason, the club will show and tell a little bit, leaving supporters to fill in the blanks and speculate exactly what the manager is trying to do, with what he has got.

My take? We are fortunate to have some quality academy players, and the club will need some of them to fill gaps when the season starts. Wilder will probably get half of what he wants, at least until any takeover is a confirmed.

We will be left to read between the lines, with performances against mediocre opposition, and potential academy graduates filling the gaps left as some regulars move on. We will know more in the next few weeks, but its iteresting to see if the youngsters will get a chance as the season gets under way.

Wilder seems cagey but confident, without giving too much away. If we do get new owners, they will probably give him some time, but he is a cocky bugger who always believes he has nothing to prove.
He also understands that this is his last chance anyway. I can’t see anyone else fighting to get him as manager.

Well done the young players who did step up, and well done the fans who traveled.
