Some sloppy bits but also some very nice passing movements in there as well.

As mentioned in shoutbox.. Traore, Brooks and Curtis the standouts in that first half for me.

The Anel/Souza classic there.

Anel jogs forward with ball and gets easily dispossessed.

Souza late to react as York player strolls 1 on 1 with Davies and beats him easily.

Our two international superstars? You sure?

Enjoyed the first half. Not bothered by the odd sliced pass out of play. Several good contributions from most players. Traore man of the half, very tricky and fast, but also aggressive, hard working and looks stronger. Hope he stays.

Brooks and Traore excellent. Anel nowt special. Defence still looks fragile.

Brooks and Traore looked classy, good to see One get a goal. Hopefully get a winner in the second half!

as i was saying on the shoutbox & i post the pictures on here, bloke turning up to the york stadium with his luggage. although i used to weird sights. as it seems the train driver came to watch the game as well

Bottom picture is that the shirecliffe sniper ??? Dressed like a evil assassin !! That piece of paper must be his next target 🎯

Encouraging performances from existing players, bar Souza who looked like he'd rather be anywhere else. Great finish from Osula.

Shackleton looked good too.

We'll be a threat with the right additions (and Hamer to come back).

Shackleton by far and away the standout in the 2nd half.

Although technically a right back he has played in the middle of the park several times and I think he could compliment Arblaster and Hamer very well in the midfield

Some interesting numbers on show today, mostly just last season's squad numbers and you'd expect those to change after so many people left, especially the young players rather than having a bunch of 30 and 40 somethings but even so some are different

Davies was wearing 17 instead of his previous 1, but Grbic still wearing 13 suggests we're getting a new number 1.
Traore had 20 rather than the 11 he had at the start of last season, with Bogle wearing 2.
One was 39 which was Hackford's last year when One was 26.
Arblaster is 4
Shackleton wearing 16 looks funny as from a distance he looks kind of Norwoodish but moves about three times as fast.

Everyone played fairly well, Anel looked a bit ropey at times and Slimane was a bit of a passenger who let the game pass him by but nobody was bad. Traore, Brooks and Osula looked sharper than most of the others but all of the kids looked decent, Freckleton did his usual looking great in pre-season and Curtis was good going forward.

First half Traore and Brooks the stand outs. Second half had more control of the game. Young Dovy (Sasnauskas) continues to impress with his distribution and reading of the game. Decent in the air as well.

Good goal from Osula but the stand out player was Shackleton playing in his best position DM. Constantly involved, on the move controlling the midfield. He has a turn of pace and can get down the flanks. He showed everything you would want from an SUFC player. Other more established players take note

I thought Osula was good and Brewster showed some good moments. Shackleton was excellent and so was the guy in defence with the Polish-sounding name. Only York of course but encouraging,
Sasnauskas. Easier to use his first name Dovy. He's Lithuanian. He looks a very good prospect. Product of Chelsea's academy.
