Unfortunately i think John broke his body playing to much football ,he went away on international duty carrying knocks and we paid the price .but nothing but good luck to the lad .

As far as I can remember, it's not even been widely circulated what his injury even is? How do you know his return time?
Just what I've been told.
We will see if it's correct if someone snaps him up?

He probably just wants a deal full stop and we're still dicking about.

I'm sure he can afford to go a couple of weeks without any income but he either doesn't want to or has been forced to. Either of those scenarios piss me off!
Of course he wants a deal, footballers are effectively freelance contractors and he’ll want a deal especially after being injured (and the associated down periods that brings, mentally). New season, new start.

Long term injury issue aside. Which looks like it’s played a part with this whole shambolic affair.

Top pro.

Top lad.

Leaves an enormous void which, I’ll tell thi now, won’t get filled.

Deserves an enormous amount of credit for sterling service to our club. One of Wilders very best signings.

A whole hearted VGLTTL ❤️.

UTB

I'd have rather the club had announced this instead of Andrews going. It's getting quite shambolic the communication from the club at the moment.

As for John, great player, great memories. Good to luck to him, hopefully he is able to find a new club.

So we don’t have a captain now either…

Wonder if he did fail to prove his fitness?

I suppose if you’re paying someone close on 30k per week, you’re skint and you find out they will be missing for 4 months, then you probably think that’s half a million in wages you can best deploy elsewhere.

Still, it’s another player, like Baldock who leaves with no fee incoming.

Fingers crossed there is a grand plan but we’re seeing a generation of heroes leave.

I hope we are getting a new one soon.

I am sure Wilder did say a new deal would depend on John's fitness.

If the rumour of him still being 4 months away then I can understand why we have not given him anything.

I don't know how good Egan would have been next season with what he's been through physically but I'd rather have kept him, a full-throated GLTTL.

On a related note, everyone above playing staff levels can go and thoroughly fuck themselves.

This really is a summer of big change now. This is the one where if he was fit, we had to keep him for at least one year (we had the option) so can't have been fit.

Still sing his promotion song in my head frequently.

GLTTL really is a fresh start for us, hopefully we can bring in some hunger.

Wonder why Egs and the club both pushed the rehab stuff, at United's ground, in United gear... For it to then come to nothing? McBurnie has had similar moments too.

Inevitable really.

With us relegated, Egan recovering from a LT injury, whilst being out of contract - paired with apparent PL interest and Egan the wrong side of 30, he’s probably got one last big pay day.

Would have been a fucking miracle if he’d have signed - don’t see any scenario where he was going to stay.

Goes as a fantastic servant of the club.

Gonna need to be some rebuild.

You’d expect the medical team are still assessing the injured players and are producing reports for whoever wants them.

A real shame to see him go. May well be that he struggles to recover from the injury but I wouldn't back against him being at least a top end championship player for a good few years to come.

It's getting concerning that we don't seem to be able to do any business at the minute. Whether that's bringing new players in or giving new contracts to the ones we already had. Seems like all the ones we were in talks with are leaving which isn't a great sign.

I'd assume based on the fact we'd offered them deals that Wilder would've liked them to stay but maybe they're each individual cases of us wanting them to stay on reduced wages / squad roles and them deciding to look elsewhere.

We're forcing ourselves into having a major squad overhaul which is simultaneously exciting and terrifying

Think you are giving the social media executive a bit too much credit to be clued up with the off the pitch goings ons and contract negotiations!!

Not sure they are strategically teasing and leaking information. They’ll simply have a schedule of posts tbf
