Chris Wilder and rebuilding Sheffield United

Hecky decent few games at the end of his first spell in charge. When put in full charge well into a season he made the play offs and ran forest very close. A semi final FA cup appearance and promotion. Many of the players in the academy were under his tutelage. My point is he hardly lacked experience.
illiman nidaye got us promoted to the premier league apart from him we were a mid table championship team

I don’t think it’s even down to Wilder or another manager. Our next 2 seasons are down to the PA whether it goes well or not.
I think even with lack of spending Wilder can succeed. We've also got some very good players if they stay. If they go then Wilder can spend more but id rather Arblaster and Hamer stay.

We don’t have some very good players though.

We have 2 and we are already talking about them going before we even start. If we count OM as a good player too he may not even sign a new deal!

If we turn down all offers for the players get some of them signed up and go for the best free agents we have a chance.

That’s why I think it’s all down to PA. We saw Hull spend £7.5m net with some of the best loans and not get playoffs.

Leeds & Southamtpon are miles ahead of us and one or both may not even go up!

Oli McBurnie was slapping the badge on his club gear on Saturday in front of the Kop on the tour with the two boxers at HT.......he might want to sign a new deal, but do we risk a squad number on his injury prone body.

Its been mentioned a few times in the Grbic thread I think plus I've seen it on Twitter (!?) . Hence starting my comment with "Apparently.."
Ohh fair, i don’t believe it personally but I sit towards the other end of the spectrum when it comes to wilder.

Ndiaye existed pre-wilder and he wasn’t playing him. Berge too and slav also brought Gibbs White in but still made a pigs ear of things. If you think it was a one player team you clearly didn’t rate the excellent loan signings. Loans ok short term and are no way to develop a squad but they made fantastic signings.

Can’t see Hamer staying and I’d guess if the prince is offered anything close to 10m for Arblaster he’d sell.

Arblastar has signed a long contract it would be a big mistake if they sell him. Get rid of Souza, and cash in on Hamer, Archer is going back to villa for £14m in his contract if we get relegated we have been. Baldock is going to a club in Greece I wish him well. All the loan players will return to their clubs. Norwood and others will be released. but I think Wilder is the right manager for us. I hope we have a decent start to next season. better still we get a new owner or owners.

Didn't want Wilder back it was only ever a move to appease the fans. What is he going to do better than Hecky could with this shower of shit. You could tell we were in big trouble if you went to the Stuttgart friendly if not the first game against a fairly poor Palace outfit should have been ringing alarm bells. Having said that were we actually that bad in the opening few games I thought we should have got a point at Forest and maybe all three at Spurs we certainly deserved something from those games. We were very close to beating Everton at the lane too. I'm not sure at all what happened at the Newcastle game but I do think other factors were at play with the news about the well liked Maddy Cusack none of the players seemed to have their minds on the job and from that day performances just went downhill.

Anyone could see we were going to be relegated and we could all see why so no point in going over it again apart to say it was a shit show. For me they may as well have stuck with Hecky playing Wilder ball as bring back the real Judas to play the same old Wilder ball. Yeah he made all the right noises, we had a mini new manager bounce and looked to be more attacking but the defending just got worse and worse, we looked better but ultimately the results were the same.

So what do we get with this 2nd coming? A Wilder who looks to have spent a fair wedge of his £4m on ale so just a fatter version of the same scruffy looking cunt who can't find a razor blade. He can say what he's gunna do every interview but that don't mean it will happen. I'm not convinced after his stints at Boro and Watford they need gunna's in the Army tho. Be interesting to see if he can walk the walk after all his talk about how he's gunna do this and gunna do that. One good thing about Hecky going is the serial loser McCall and that defence coach went with him yet we still have to wait to see any improvement. Does anyone really believe Wilder has changed from the stubborn 1st version who played want away Lunnycunt over and over we have seen how he continued to plat Grbic and Norwood who are clearly not up to it. I think we will more than likely play the same old 3-5-2 have the same old puzzling substitutions that Wilder is famed for and at best be mid table. Prepare for a decade of Pigs ascendency they will do the double over us next season at least bacon Rohl looks to have a plan and a clue how to implement it.

No enthusiasm for footy anymore I don't see the point in promotion to the corrupt Premier league with everything geared up for the top six to win they may as well play each other in a mini league to decide the title the other 14 teams can't compete even Man Utd are struggling to keep up. Rule changes every season more subs and changes to the FA cup format is all bollocks to favour the top six. Probably the main reason I have not renewed my ST along with crazy kick off times and moving out of Sheffield.
Can't disagree , take a break , come back one day to see how we are.

How many loans can we have in the matchday squad next season ?
Has Wilder got any chance of PL loans ?

To sign a striker of Mcbernies elk would cost 10 million so he has to stay for me.May not get a full season from him as he does seem to pickup injuries! Still will have a big impact on our season and he will be a big help with our young strikers his leadership qualities are a big plus as well.

I have regularly pointed out his failings and point out how resource poor we are as a club in this very video.

I have interviewed him twice, where both times I just asked questions from this forum rather than my own.

You must watch some fairly tame stuff on PornHub if this constitutes 'sucking off'.
Am not sure Eric was criticising you.

It's a tough call - he's always divided opinion - but Wilder has emphasised the importance of being available , so imo it would be hypocritical of him to chase McB unless the medical prognosis is so good that we can insure him against repeats of his many & varied injuries.
That said , if we could get McBurnie's ELK , that would be the most muscular striker we ever had and no one would challenge him for a header with those antlers ...
And don't mock the idea - we once had a Moose , you know

Deer me…………

Wilder had lost it long before he left last time and he's been a shit manager ever since. Why - because he has developed a narcissus complex. Any question that he is asked, he answers it as though it is about him. Any time anybody challenges his decisions he deliberately repeats them - as he needs to show (mainly to himself) that he was right all along. Bringing Norwood on to protect a good position once was ridiculous, twice was criminal and three times in a row was time to call for the nurse! He never analyses, he just makes excuses - "this is a powerful league..."

Listen to a Rob Edwards interview and it's like chalk and cheese.

I cant see us selling Arblaster for £10m. If there's one thing you can say on the Prince it is that he drives a hard price for player sales. Not like McCabe did for example.
Time will tell.
