I've just been looking at the table and realised that

IT'S STILL IN OUR OWN HANDS!

Sorry to be a bore monger and all that

.

Ohhh Mr. Warnock :) - I know its unrealistic but seriously, when he came in we had shit for finances, a crap bunch of puffs for a squad with a few bright sparks of talent that could possibly be nurtured into decent players. Sound familiar? With him and Morgan behind him... hmm most of you won’t agree but I wouldn’t mind him back, give some useless fecks we have a kick up the arse as well.
Hate Warnock with a passion. Would I have him back ? After the last four games at home without really working the keepers you bet I would

Really digs at me how many people say they hate Warnock when I really can't see how you could? With everything that went on in the Prem that season with Tevez etc it seems so childish to hate the bloke. What he did to get the crap players he had infront of him with minimal budget and finding some absolute gems of players (Kabba, Ndlovu etc) was incredible. The likes of which is only ever seen when any of us have a crack at managing United on football manager. You could hate his personality but christ I miss having someone at the helm who is actually fucking furious when the team he puts out don't hit 100% effort. "You've got to fucking die to get three points" - That quote right their followed up by how he went on to say have a look at the fans who have paid to watch you today, shows more spine then any of our players or managers since he went.

Christ I was pissed off when he went.

Re Warnock
Its how it was never his fault that used to get me really. That said he possibly was the best manager we have had in a very long time.

To be positive about Warnock, don't you think he would love it to lead United out at Wembley ....and WIN! Wouldn't we take that? You bet most of us would. A great opportunity.

I don't think Warnock would help McCabe out of a cab - never mind get him out of the shittiest pile of shite we have witnessed in years.

I don't dare go to another game this season, God help us get through the next two games! Our season is over, end of.

What really does my head in is when people moan about using our younger players (Kennedy, Whitehouse etc.)
I've seen Maguire, Long, McFadzean, Ironside and De Girolamo play, and quite frankly I don't see any of them apart from Long and perhaps Diego having a bright future. Maguire tonight was shite, he has been for a while, he's too slow and was one of the least mobile players on the pitch. Ironside is strong, not that big and not fast, he'll never make it at a higher level, McFadzean was no where to be seen tonight and hasn't impressed me after all the hype about him. And to say they are all better than what we've got is nonsense, I'm pretty sure if Wilson knew they were that good then he'd play them, unfortunately they aren't anything special.

Also, the discussion on whether to sack Wilson or not I find confusing, 2/3 teams last year sacked their managers, admittedly a lot earlier in the season, and they went up, has anyone noticed the top 2 teams in the league don't have the same managers they had at the start of the season? And it wouldn't surprise me at all if Swindon went up as well because of it. I for one am in favour of getting rid of that shite excuse for a 'football' playing manager. I don't care who we get in at the moment, we aren't going to go up with him so why not bloody take a risk for once this season.
Wilson has failed badly this year, choosing McMahon as a replacement for Lowton and failing to replace Williamson or Quinn. Wilson was the one who refused to play Miller from the start, he's our 3rd top scorer and hasn't even played half a season. Little errors like this has costed us in my opinion. Another very poor error was giving the likes of Collins, Doyle and Cresswell an extension for their contract, this is because they were payed a lot more than they should of had, League 1 footballers shouldn't be payed over 3-4k a week, but Wilson has quite obviously failed to drastically reduce the payments and this is why he cannot acquire any loanees.
That is all.
UTB

Players left at the end of last season and weren't replaced. Got to blame Wilson for that. Of the four major players we lost we didn't replace Williamson or Quinn. Hell we played a striker on the wing for months.
in fact he wouldn't pick Miller for ages until the fans got on his back

Not sure blooding youngsters for 5 games would achieve owt, lets face it, if we don't go up its cause the whole squad ain't good enough, there's a few in that 11 that should look in the mirror tomorrow and feel embarrassed to be called a professional footballer !
we aren't going up mate. get over it.. i'd get the Crewe manager in and replicate their system top to bottom. the were the best team i've seen at the Lane this year

This shite makes the team we had last season seem like the 1970 Brazil team.

Oh what would we give to have Montgomery, Quinn, Williamson, Lowton and Evans back.

Sack him now, 5 games to a long ball battler and motivator. Hoof it to porter/ kitson, use forte for the knock downs.

Start again next season with kids - Doyle, higgo, hill, McMahon, Williams, KMac, Flynn, porter, kitson, Cresswell, Robson can all be paid off

Employ Morgan as manager, give him good footballing coaches.

Bring in pace, power and youth.

His name evades me but I wonder if we could get the chap currently at Crewe?

Clearly not afraid to play the youngsters as it's the Crewe way, and they play a rather decent way as well, we could do a lot worse.

We may as well forget about Wilson leaving.
McCabe wont sack him so we may as well forget it............
More L1 wilderness years await.

The very "interesting" Steve Davis

I for one totally agree. I can remember the pre Warnock years and how shit and broke we were before he came in and changed things. Are we not on the way BACK to pre Warnock if not already there?

It wont happen of course because McAbe wouldn't like him rocking the boat and telling him a few home truths, and after his last slightly acrimonous departure I doubt McAbe has got Warnocks phone number anyway.

Yes Warnock has his detractors, but he knows how to point a club in the right direction, which is what we need at this moment. Face it we've been rudderless since he went. Didn't he once say something like " You might slag me off now but you'll miss me when i'm gone"

Not wrong was he.

You know that's what we've been trying all season right?

Last night I think we used that very method around 50 times. Guess what, it didn't work once.

I don't know if the forum could cope with the number of Michael Brown rumour threads if we got Warnock back.

That's the one. Why "interesting" though? Perhaps I have missed something...

The nickname Steve "interesting" Davies was originally associated with the snooker player, Steve Davies who was considered to be, by some, the most boring man in the game. So naturally some wit gave him the interesting tag and its stuck with his name ever since.

As a man who enjoys his snooker I am feeling ashamed at not realising that, must be time for some breakfast to wake up!

I genuinely don't know if now is the right time to get rid of Wilson or not but I get a feeling that he is at his sell by date.

As I see it he has 5 games to save his job. If we go up, he stays, if we don`t he goes.

Then if by the good grace of god we manage to go up I can seriously see us struggling in the Championship under DW

We would struggle under Jose Mourinho in the Championship...the only thing different is that Linz would be sliding off her seat every home match...

It was "Spitting Image" that invented the nickname for him.

Then again if we did get a new manager in, and managed to get up, then if we got off to a reasonable start then he would have the full backing of the crowd.

It all seems like a bit pie in the sky at the minute though.

It's also worth remembering this time last season we was hammering teams week in, week out, scoring shitloads of goals and playing an attractive and incisive brand of football.
