Willie Watson, double international, 5th from L. Young Brien Close, 6th from L. Johnny Wardle and a young Ray Illingworth between Yardley and the Sussex padded player. Struggling with the rest. Wardle one of mi favs as a kid, reight character wor he. a Barnsley lad.

I had the pleasure of playing cricket with both of Norman Yardley’s twin sons over the years.
Both great lads, but nowhere near as talented as their Dad - which we had great enjoyment in mentioning to them at the time. And still do!

Spot on SB, looks a bit slippy, ending in a 2-2 draw, Hawksworth (p) and Grainger.
Both teams midtable, Huddersfield a place above Blades both on 41pts. after this game. The bible shows.
When Grainger came in, he played on the Left wing, replacing Derek Hawksworth, who moved to inside forward or centre forward, being quite a success goal scoring as he had been when he played left wing.
