Hed have been another player receiving long balls to compete against 6’4” markers - tactically genius
The whole pre season was a complete fuck up, selling 2 players who can hold the ball and pass it more than 1 yard, the squad is shocking in depth and will take us down, did u watch the state of the subs that came on today, if it was possible we were worse than earlier in the game, we are a mess and it stems from pre season.
Unfortunately we don’t have enough to recover from this, I hope I’m really wrong about this and please come back to me and throw it my face I will be delighted if you do

This is... baloney.

Ndiaye was irreplaceable for a club like ours and wanted out. Berge was replaced by a much better player.

In fact our first XI, and squad, is a lot stronger than the one we came up with.

We took a battering that had maybe been coming, it's the reaction to that which will define the season.

If you thought we wouldn't have an almighty battle to stay up regardless then you must be on S6-Deludamol. I've always thought we would go straight back down, but I'm actually happier with the squad than I thought I'd be.

This is one game, not an entire season.

This is what happens when you don’t retain possession properly.

We seem unable to do this. Against teams that are doped up to the eyeballs financially you can’t hand them the ball so easily.

There are question marks about all three initial goals - handball, handball and no foul. Without them the game wouldn’t have finished so badly. It is a pity it did because it does mean the officials get away with it and quite frankly it is going to sound ridiculous in a press conference when you then went on to concede six more.

What difference would have Ndiaye have made today ?

The defence is something we thought was fairly sound apart from left back.

Not sure what keeping Ndiaye would have done for the goals we conceded today.

Absolutely knew we would come down as the squad is not good enough as demonstrated in todays game, squad is definitely not stronger than what we came up with
Souza ok
Hamer personally needs to grow into the premier league if he ever does
Archer good in flashes but with so little service we will not see the best of him
Trusty not even trusted
Egan is a shambles
Anel is a shambles because of Egan
Norwood doing ok
Mactee looked good for 20 minutes today glad he’s back
Boggle never even close to be good enough
Thomas looks ok
Davies not been on pitch enough to judge
Silimane can’t even get a game most days
When we go down many of these we unfortunately leave I would guess, even if they don’t do many players are out of contract at the end of the season.
We haven’t managed to keep a clean sheet against Everton, Crystal Palace or Nottingham forest, forget the big boys.

I agree with everything you just said. EXCEPT the very last sentence. This is not just 1 game. This could do major damage to the entire season

What makes you think hamer is better than berge? I haven't seen it

How is the first XI a lot stronger? We've only upgraded one position (Hamer for Berge). Every other player is the same as last season or worse.

Well said that man

You sell your best player, don't spend enough money and bring players in late in the window.
Our best player wanted out. We can repeat any other explanation until we're blue in the face. He wasn't "sold". Fans with a victim mentality are feeding off this like it was Deane and Fjortoft all over again.

Your second point, I generally agree with. Many fans would be happy just by throwing money around because that's what wins the banter/pride stakes but our best moves have been the lower value ones.

Bring players in late? What do you suggest? We should've rang up all the managers we wanted to buy/loan players from and told them to hurry up because we can't wait? They say no or they double the price. Brilliant move.

I hate that the window closes after the season starts but the answer isn't to pretend it doesn't.

Yes all of the above . Bottom line we are not owned by a nation state nor do we have the quality most established prem teams have and yes we might / might not stay up but the underlying issue is the ownership . He wants out and that’s tact . Maybe one day some organisation or country will want SUFC until then were n the shit like most of the 86 clubs that are not owed by trillionaires . Deal with it
