Not sure what the general catchment area is for Mexborough and Dearne Valley in general. Stuck in between Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster but a fair distance from all 3 towns (or city as Doncaster is now) and no big non league teams. I know that is has decent numbers of Blades and Pigs. Guess most kids there probably support Man U or Man City.

No lol but that doesnt change much me mush! Your whole body reacts to anger or danger, your blood rushes, your brain runs sharper. Its always gunna be a part of us, its whats kept us alive all these thousands of years. God knows how many people enjoy watching or training in boxing who class themselves as non violent. I don’t think anyone denies that primeval urges exist. Fight or flight & all that. Also the urge to procreate, which is another strong one that leaves victims if men give into those urges. But, whilst recognising them, it doesn’t mean we have to act on them. Especially over something that might threaten our self esteem, like an insult, but hardly threatens our existence. It shows greater strength to walk away.

You made a good point earlier about fighting “if both parties are willing”. And yes, I absolutely get that. But I don’t think we’re talking about that here.

You mentioned my experiences in the past, not my future.

That's what the "I grew up" comment was a response to. I was incredibly hot headed as a young man. Then I learnt to simply not give a shit if someone insulted me.

That enlightenment may eventually come your way too.

Thats what Im thinking but I struggle to explain my self as clearly as that so cheers. Klaatu Barada Nikto i think iv got wrong end of thread, I wouldnt knock someone out for calling me names or whatever, being round metal etc we get insulted all time but just move on to next lot. I was telling love walrus Dave that violence is natural after he told me it wasnt, after I had said it was.
