He'll either a/change his mind tomorrow and they'll kiss and make up or b/ be pigs manager when they sack Jones next week.

Swindon are built on sand. No heritage and a nothing club. As soon as Dicanio had to stop paying shitloads for players like the rest of us it was always going to end in tears. Man's the ultimate big fish in a small pond.

Who's won most trophies in last 40 years , us or them ?

As long as we keep winning then we dont have to worry about anyone else.

Maybe wont win the league though as if Donny match us point for point they would fininsh above us

40 years takes us back to 1973 which means they have won the 4th Division twice (we have won it once in same period) and 3rd Division once (which we may equal this year). So in reality they have won more trophies than us but then they have competed in those trophies for longer than us.

Who has won most league titles, who has won most FA cups, who is the better known club? Who has the richer tradition within the game and who is the better known club? Oh and who has spent the most time in higher divisions out of the two? Come on thats a weak argument and you know it.

I think the point he was trying to get at was that Swindon last won a trophy (the League Cup) in 1969, whereas we have to go back to 1925. However, given that we have had 10 years in the top division since then) and 60 in our history compared to Swindon's 1 and that I would bet a million pounds that Swindon have never had a higher average attendance than us in any season, the general argument is, as you say, crap.

I suspect he's referring to their 1969 League Cup win, which puts them in the vast array of clubs that have actually won a trophy since we did in 1925.

PS. For those who quite like maths, that Swindon trophy is exactly half way (44 years) back to our last.

Dazzler, bugger off and do some work instead of sneaking in and beating me to the punch.

I suspect Di Cantio will be applying for the Coventry job he still might have a say in what happens in League One.

And which will be extended by one more team this coming weekend, though if one of those two can win something maybe there's even hope for us...

Maybe you should do a bit of research before posting. Over 100 years of heritage not good enough for you?

"Swindon Town Football Club is an English football club based in Swindon, Wiltshire. The club participates in League One, the third tier of English football. They play their home games at The County Ground, which has a capacity of 14,700 and has been home for over 100 years.
Since turning professional in 1894, the club has enjoyed periods of success, most notably during the period 1968–1970 when they won the 1969 League Cup (defeating Arsenal at Wembley Stadium) securing promotion to the Second Division. League Cup success earned the club its first invitations to European competitions, but they were not eligible to participate because they played in the then Third Division. So as compensation they were entered into the 1969 Anglo-Italian League Cup and the 1970 Anglo-Italian Cup, with Swindon winning both. These wins were led by the club's talisman winger Don Rogers. The South Stand was named after him from the 2007–08 season. The club's two best wins were 10 goals to 2 over Norwich City on 5 September 1908 and 10 goals to 1 over Farnham United Breweries F.C. in the season of 1925–26 but the club's worst loss was 10 goal to 1 down against Manchester City in 1930."

Cut and pasting from a website only shows that in 100 years their crowning glory was promotion to the SECOND division and winning the league cup. Oh and the Anglo Italian cup in 1970, shit a pig I stand corrected.

This is all great if we can take advantage of others misfortunes around us and pick up the baton and just keep runnin Forrest Gump style!!!!!!!!

And that there are no court cases pending for key players in the team

Nah then Bladesway. You should know by now that jacko is a poster who's illustrious views will never be crossed or questioned!;)

FFS Swiss! Don't even joke about it!!!!:D

Its the "Blades way"

Reminds me of the Simpsons Softball episode...

Eight of the nine all-star players suffer unrelated misfortunes that prevent them from playing: Clemens is made to think he is a chicken due to a bad hypnotist, Boggs is knocked unconscious by Barney after an argument at Moe's Tavern (over who was England's greatest Prime Minister, Lord Palmerston or Pitt the Elder), Griffey, Jr. takes an overdoses of nerve tonic, resulting in an extreme case of gigantism, Sax is arrested and put in prison for various unsolved murders he did not commit, Smith disappears in the "Springfield mystery spot", Canseco is too busy rescuing a woman and her possessions from a fire, Mattingly is kicked off the team by Mr. Burns due to sideburns only he can see, and Scioscia is hospitalized due to radiation poisoning from the plant. Burns is forced to use his original employees, along with Strawberry, the only star who can play. Homer remains on the bench as Strawberry plays his position.

Mpjacko bigging up Swindon, that's very funny.

You must have chosen the word "heritage" very carefully, it certainly isn't a euphemism for "winning things".
