Will Osula

He can only develop by playing against good defenders every week, once he gets a better midfield behind him then it’s up to him. The talent is there and could have had 2 today, him and Beni were living off scraps today, they both did ok.
No one is saying they didn’t do okay. They worked hard. But this is a development league. He went to Derby and struggled. He’s learning these are tests for him.

He cannot be at this level maybe in 5 years but not now. Needs sorting.

Did alright today I thought. Came close in the 2nd half, and was unlucky that the shot in the 1st got a nick off the defender. Put himself about, looked strong. Ideally I'd like us to get a first choice starter in before the window shuts, but hopefully Osula will continue to develop playing against the best defenders. He should be proud of his performance today, and use it to kick on and get better.

he’s caused some issues for Palace today and put himself about pretty well that won’t go unnoticed
Had our best chance of the game, not entirely sure how close it was to going in that top corner but it looked fairly close from my view on the kop.

That’s bullshit, maybe in 5 years, you are having a laugh. The midfield supply line was as poor as you can get in this league,I will go on heckys judgement rather than mine or yours. Always quick to write our own off, always fall guys, always not good enough.

Forgot that was him, if that's the one that bounced just past the post with Johnstone rooted to the spot I thought that it might have gone in had it not taken that deflection.

Oddly enough, I didn't think him and Traore were trying to work as a partnership in the first half, not getting close enough to each other, not looking for each other for a pass among other things. Second half however I thought that they actually started to work together as a team, even combining for our best chance of the match.

I thought it was in when he hit it

I thought he did ok, but he needs to chill. Him Osborn and Traore kept rushing everything, giving the ball and fouls away mostly
Agree with this, he knew from early fouls how the ref was going to react, then just kept doing it. Exactly what McBurnie does.

Traore same. Just shows they need to wise up, take the fall themselves.

He’s 20 year old, scored 2 in 12 at Derby in league one. 3 months later he’s good enough for prem. I know it’s first weekend back drinking but come on.

Osula won’t score 10 PL goals in his whole career. It’s not his fault it’s just he’s not anywhere near the level required.

Why did he get booked for being offside, which looked a dodgy call from my, admittedly bad, position?

I thought he was fine all things considered. Showed some good stuff. Didn’t do some things a prime berbartov might have done, but he’s not that. He’s a kid, thrown in at the deep end. Let’s support him.

Kicking the ball away, bullshit decision given what they got away with all game.

Kicking the ball away, even a slight movement of the ball by a player after the whistle has gone is an instant yellow card this seasons rules dictate.

Thought it for a while but one of the biggest take aways, for me, is that he has something of Billy about him. The way he positions himself when receiving the ball, while being hounded by oppo players, backing in and shielding the ball, drawing a foul. Top stuff. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it's as a result of him watching and learning from King Bill.

Harry Kane at his age played 10 PL games and got 3 goals

The ref was biased, they play acted all game and he did nothing about it..

Hope he falls off a cliff or a big hole appears and his house falls into it..

When he's asleep 🤣

Think people fall into the trap of thinking ‘if your good enough your old enough’ is actually real.

There are very very few teenagers that play regularly at this level - you have to be ‘exceptional’ technically, physically, tactically to do so. Harry Kane had 10 starts at the same age as has been pointed out - and he’s englands record goal scorer.

People will claim he’s not up to it if he doesn’t score but he’s still learning the game. I think he’s got something about him - but we are going to have to be patient as he develops.

There’s enough raw materials where I would feel good about tying him down to a contract and seeing how he develops - he could certainly make the role his own but we shouldn’t expect that.

Same with Jebbo really - it wouldn’t be surprising if it takes another couple of years for it to click for both.

Kicked the ball away, harsh given some of the things Palace weren't getting booked for.

I wonder why Liverpool, juventus and many other clubs are seriously interested in him, probably because he won’t score 10 pl goals in his whole career 🙄 . As said I trust hecky and it is up to Osula if he wants to progress. Your cataract referral letter will be be coming through the post soon.

Needs a season in the Championship to be fair, hes crying out for games, goals and confidence.

Goes to ground too easily for me. Big ask today though.

He soldiered on against a tough city defence and a weak ref. Won a bit more in the air than he did against Palace. Can't fault the effort and athleticism but never really looked like scoring this season. Needs a loan further down the pyramid to master his craft and get his confidence up
