Is it though? Yes the fan supporters base maybe not be as big or the ground capacity however looking at options for him, its a stepping stone. He is playing under a manager with European pedigree that has contacts. For him that might be the option. That isnt a dig at Hecky as I personally think he is a great manager however has a very Yorkshire dominated career which might be why Berge wants to play under someone that is better known. Also Burnley have certainly had more years in the Premier League than us over the last 15 years.
 

Does anyone know whether Sander asked for a transfer, or whether he is being pushed out of the club to raise funds?
Like a lot of people I thought he was happy to run down his contract, and suspect that we've told him to F off as we need the money.
On Blades Ramble tonight Jimmy was very much painting the picture that Sander has asked for a transfer on the eve of the season, that's he's a disgrace, has played us for fools, and that he's not that good anyway. He did sound very much like he was acting as a mouthpiece for the Prince tonight though and was putting a positive spin on things. I might be wrong, but it did come accross that way to me.

What’s not to believe? I thought the message from the club was clear… sell now and make money or let him leave for free in the summer.

If we agree a fee it means we’ve met our current valuation for him…

Of course we want to push him now. Of course Berge doesn’t have to accept personal terms and will be free to leave in the summer if he doesn’t accept any of the moves offered him

Theyve admitted they're in the prince's back pocket Whatsapp group and being fed lines to make the board not look at fault and pinning it all on the player.

"Moving to be closer to a footballing buddy" FFS does Darren and Jimmy expect us to believe that bullshit.

At least YorkBlade and Ingood Nick possibly seem to be realizing they're being used given by their reactions on social media today.

Where has he ever said he doesn’t want to be here? In fact all he’s ever said is quite the opposite, including him saying the success of promotion with this team last year was the best moment of his life.

Don’t vilify him because of our awfully run football club and want away owner cashing in now.

Does Jibba Jabba thinks he’s got a better chance of selling the club by offloading all our best players and cementing us at 20th place all season?

If Berge goes and we get Vinicius and O Brien I would see that as a huge step forward. Berge has been ok to good for his time with us but no better than that for me.
IN was a huge loss, Sander is more of a "I'd rather he stayed"
Looks to me that PA is rolling the dice (selling prime uncontracted assets) and PH has to come up with the goods for new players.

The club has actively been trying to out Berge since our first year in the Championship. Much bigger clubs than Burnley have come in but he's never forced a move despite living in a hotel and being told we want you out "for the right price". Our form with him in the team last year was automatic, without play offs, that's just the facts. The same old faces have started smearing him now the club have decided to cash in. The guy with the youtube channel is just parroting the propaganda he's being fed imo. Typical PR bs from our overlord who is a master at it.

A wider note is that the club is looking to move anybody in their final year.Ndiaye, Berge, Jebbo. If there are others with a value expect the same and to be told what terrible human beings they are in the next breathe.

Yet Jimmy "the bullshiter" rambler says it's Berges fault and that Berge is "disgusting" because he came to the club within 5 days of league kicking off and demanded to leave.

What a load of crap, the sooner we all stop listening to the bullshit spin these sockpuppet mouth pieces are told to spout from the Prince, the better it will be for everyone.

The club wants the money for Berge. That's the top and bottom of it. On no occasion has he pushed for a move despite being in the Champ with his international manager pushing him to move and bids coming in that were probably more attractive to him than SUFC. The club would rather take the money which is fine, but save the smears which seem to follow every player that leaves.
I was lucky enough to have a few conversations with Sander last Jan when he was based in town. Sound lad sat waiting for the green light that the club had reached a deal. Remarkable to still be playing in such circumstances really. Now you get mouthpieces spouting transparent shite.

He’s had us over a barrel for the last 18 months and the club had been hoping for a change of heart and a signature. It hasn’t materialised and they’ve called his bluff. Should have signed it Sander. Enjoy those shite freezing nights on the Lancashire moors.

You're talking like Burnley is a downgrade on us
 
While the town of Burnley is shit and they have a small ground with lots of six fingered fans, it’s crazy to argue that in a footballing sense they are worse than us and I can see why Sander wants to sign for an acquisitive club and not a club who has played contract roulette with too many players.

He’s also not wanted to be here for ages and has been putting a brave face on things until someone actually wanted him. He probably thought Napoli or Juve would be in, but his agent has probably told him it’s Burnley or nothing and he’s opted for Burnley.

We also probably sniffed £12m for a sporadic performer in his final year and couldn’t turn it down.

In many cases that will be true! Berge knew or knows he will have a choice of club.
Still surprised it's Burnley as they arnt going to win anything and really will be in the mix fighting relegation so possibly back in the championship.

What I found interesting in PA’s interview with YorkBlade was his comment re the size of the transfer budget. He answered along the lines of I’ll say this but won’t take a follow up question, you don’t tell clubs how much you have to spend or they’ll up their asking price. Not a quote but you get the gist. Maybe it’s us pushing the rumours, we seem to stand out as a club being critical of players Agents, maybe we are trying to influence the conversations, maybe, maybe not. 🤷‍♂️

They've offered him a new deal, quite a few sources have confirmed that and he hasn't been willing to sign yet he's happy to go and sign for Burnley a team that is marginally better than us & will also struggle. Alan Nixon said it's because they'll give Berge the pay increase he wants.

He clearly doesn't want to play for us next season, presumably because he doesn't trust we have any chance of staying up and doesn't want to end up back in the championship again.

He doesn't live in a hotel.

He lives in a flat near the University
 
It’s as if everyone is anti Prince and just not using their heads, it’s really simple, berge on his side isn’t pushing for a move, he’s just running his contract down, then he can move for free in a year, that doesn’t benefit us in the slightest, everyone concerned would much prefer him just to sign a new contract…. He doesn’t want to!!! The prince has no choice but to get some money for him now rather than lose him for nothing in 12 months… we are in exactly the same position with Jebbo, negotiate a deal when we offer you one or dont it’s up to you but we won’t let anyone leave for free, I 100 % don’t blame the Prince on this whatsoever, it’s just frustrating, the upside is we use the money to sign someone who does want to play for us

I'm a bit meh about it all tbh. Berge has flattered to deceive imo. Looked good in flashes, but can't control a game for periods, can't tackle and his heading is woeful. If he won't re-sign then cash in.

I had a different opinion on Ndiaye as he's a game changer and controls games, Sander isn't.

My only concern is that we do what Utd always do, and dont reinvest.

Going to be an interesting month, and a VERY interesting Saturday. I can't recall a season where I'm so pessimistic after getting promoted, and it's getting worse, not better.

Need some quality signings now, and lots of them if we are to have a chance.
