Lad has got huge potential, looks a better prospect than DCL when he came through. Don’t understand what on earth we are doing at the moment. 😩

We’ve got no strikers, no budget - any young player should be desperate to stay as they’ll get minutes and we should be trying to tie them down. What are we offering him? £250 p/w and a houseshare in Rotherham? If he goes out on loan and gets 15 in the Champ he’s worth £15m plus as he’s English.

Another player we’ve run the contract down so have no other option than to sell. Very badly run football club recently

If Jebbo was contracted for a few more years then sure keep him and see how he develops. But he has 1 year left and is unproven beyond a brief spell in league one. So we’re hardly going to loan him out, risk letting him rip it up somewhere and then walk for free. Equally we don’t want to be starting him in the Prem as we can’t afford to carry players if they’re not ready yet. Long way of saying if he’s not signing a new deal then totally see why we’d take a fee now.

It's diabolical. How the fuck can we not afford to renew the contracts of important existing players after an uplift in income of about £100m over the year? 😂What is going on??

Are people really that dumb swap Maupay for Jebbison 🙈

Honestly some of our fans are beyond thick dear god, Jebbo is one of our best young prospects.

There is a very good reason they are after him just like they was with Calvert Lewin.

If we sell Jebbo there is no hope for our club at all.
So if he’s that good why didn’t he start in front of Billy last season who we just let go for feck all!!!???

Clearly Hecky does rate him / trust him

There's a reason Dortmund/Bayern apparently are monitoring him.

He can go there for fuckall next year, zero compensation due to us despite him being U23. And rumours strong he's another one that has no intentions of signing a new deal with us.

We're a fucking mess of a club.

Maybe they have just commented on the situation after weighing up all the facts and probabilitys before wading in forcing their big dick energy on the conversation ?

Problem is he dosent seem to want another Contract with us so do we risk another illiman situation. ?

Do you really think some of the bigger clubs like Bayern and Dortmund amongst others would be interested too 🙄

He has to sign a new contract before this window or be sold as he can go for free to one of his foreign suitors in January.
appears he is not prepared to sign and this has apparently been the case for a while as we have been talking to him since before we rejected the offer from Everton.
little We can do as we are not the most desirable destination, subsequently sell whilst players have 18 months on their contracts to ensure maximum leverage.

People are seriously overrating Jebbo. Decent young prospect, nothing more at this moment in time, has hardly shown much. A fee for Jebbo is probably more useful to us at this point than holding onto him for another year where he doesn't see the light of day.
If that was the case why are some of Europe's biggest clubs reportedly interested then too?.

Jebbo doesn't look like he'll ever be a top striker to me, he just doesn't have the natural ability.

However, what he does have is a 20 year old, 6' 3" athletic frame and England youth caps on his CV, so he's obviously going to be worth a few quid. For that reason alone we should be tying him down to a contract, and it's also probably the reason bigger clubs are looking at him (if they even are). Football is a business at the end of the day and he looks like a good investment on a free.

Because as said above, those European clubs can see his contract running down and the possibility of getting him for sweet fuck all. Also 'interest' doesn't correlate to, we're willing to buy this player for x amount right now. Not to mention agents like to put these rumours out there in the hopes of getting their client a better deal, and his is running out.

European clubs always have interest in young English players, if they can get them for pennies and it works out, they're quids in due to English tax, if it doesn't work out then they've basically lost nothing. It's no skin off Bayern's back to take a look at players like Jebbo, of which they'll be looking at tons btw.

It's a coin toss whether he's on course to be another DCL or another Jordan Slew. And if he won't sign a new deal it doesn't really matter either way.

The very same comments people are making about Jebbo now are what was said when we sold DCL.

"Don't know what they see in him" "he will never make it in the top flight" "he will be another slew in league two in a few seasons"

DCL is now worth 50 mill

50 million? Give over. He's worth about half that and he's crocked half the time.

Yeah he's been injured but last time he was touting as moving that was the price.

I don't want Jebbison to leave, there's something great about a player coming through the ranks , however watching him this last two seasons I haven't seen enough to suggests he's going to be a success, because he plays for England under 20's we probably presume he's a good player, still I'd love to hear he's signed a new contract with us

For balance, I think Jebbison is a great prospect. Very few 19 year olds have his attributes; height, pace, power and he can finish with both feet.
I'm pretty positive he'll have a really good career if / when he mentally decides he wants it enough.

If the club wasn't such a circus upstairs, he'd have had a couple of loans by now and he'd have 20 goals in League 1 (Burton) and probably 10-12 in the Championship (somewhere like Rotherham). He'd then be worth £12-15m.
We've stunted his growth as a player and I can't blame him for not wanting to sign a new deal.

Given the above, we've little choice but to sell him this Summer.
He isn't so good (right now) that he's going to be the difference between us staying up or going down, so if he isn't willing to negotiate we have to protect the club. Sell and (hopefully) reinvest the funds.

I blame the ownership for the situation we're in and unfortunately we're probably going to see a lot more scenarios like this.
But these scenarios dictate the requirement to sell.

I wouldn't be surprised to see more go before the window closes (Berge, for one).

Good point re the U20s, which should ensure any fee is inflated by 'England tax' - another tick in the 'sell' column, unfortunately

At what wage level would you consider reasonable for a player who won’t be in our first team for at least another season? 15k? 20k?
