The whole reason Man U r after the Inter keeper is because he's excellent with his feet. If u r playing 3 at the back having a keeper who is a footballer opens up more options and effectively means you have 11 outfield players

Yeah, I understand the logic

But you’re not asking the keeper to be Norwood - you’re asking him to be passable with the ball really. Not hard to get that level of passing from professionals in comparison to exceptional keeping skills. You can train passing

Just Having 11 outfielders… but having your keeper throwing the ball into the goal like bravo did seems a poor trade off to me.

I certainly wouldn’t trade an exceptional keeper because he’s poor with his feet and can’t beat the press or whatever they want him to do. Feels like that has an outsized significance from analysts compared to actually keeping the ball out of the net.

Obviously the ideal is someone like ederson or neuer who could do both.

Forest have bought Matt Turner and were then rumoured to be going in for Henderson, however they have apparently started talks with Kasper Schmeichel instead.

Would you use a loan to bring him here?

Can't see any Blade being against this! Can we afford his wages?.
You could say cheap if it means improving our chances of staying up realistically!.
It's a big call as his wages will be double our top earner more than likely.
Not a chance in hell

HRH Doesn’t want to spend money

Wes said yesterday that he is number one
We will not be spending any money on a new keeper

His wages for the season Are basically our entire transfer budget. This ship saled years ago.

We’ll wait until Wes gets injured during the third game and realise we are pretty fucked and re sign Verrips on a 3 year loan with an obligation to fund a finger transplant 6 months.

I've got a feeling we might go back in for a loan. FWIW I'm happy with Wes in goal but apparently Crystal Palace are after him. I'd 100% take him if Man Utd contribute to his wages, but HRH did say he'd sanction the wages if needed.

I reckon having Dean Henderson would be just as significant off the pitch as he is on it. He’d probably massively boost the morale. I think we’re probably still waiting on the answer for amad diallo first before trying to get any other Manchester United player in on loan

Much as I like Wes, Hendo would be an upgrade for sure - at the very least he'd give us some genuine competition to keep Wes sharp, because Davies isn't getting near the team barring injury/suspension and Ammissah doesn't seem to be in Hecky's immediate plans. Nostalgia for his Lane glory days would probably work in our favour too.

If we have cash for one substantive signing and then two good quality loans, I would definitely go for Hendo. I am Ok with Wes in goal and in terms of the squad there is definately a lot of work needed further up the field. But a keeper of Hendo's quality and experience could make such a difference in a lot of tight games. I am sure he would like a move further up the food chain, but if that is not happening and the Prince says wages are not an issue for loan, we should be in. Also the boost it would give the crowd, when the atmosphere is potentially quite fragile.

Henderson is on approx 170k per week

Every source I've seen indicates it's six figures but nowhere near that, heck the MEN reported on when he went on loan last season that Forest would cover his £110k/week wages

Yes he was at his best at the Lane the fans loved him but more importantly I think he saved us up to 10 or more points which if reproduced could be very important at the end of the season . One of the reasons we ended up in 9th place in the prem ,would settle for that again. Wes is fine but Hendo is an upgrade .He was so good for us even broke in to the England camp while he was here .Also I feel he loved it here to.

Full whack it's 170k

I don’t think anyone is waiting on Diallo unless we view him as a valuable addition to our treatment room. He’s done his knee in preseason and has gone for scans with no timescale on his recovery.

West Ham or Tottenham would be a cracking move for him.

I still think he's the best goalkeeper in England (just), but he made a poor decision to sign that new deal and return to Man Utd when he did. Chelsea were sniffing and that would have been a great move for the lad.

Needs to improve with a ball at his feet to really press on though. Southgate seems to value it and modern football is dictating it as a necessity at the top end.

This was almost 2 years ago.
Sad to see how it's all panned out for him. He's made plenty of money and there's loads of still time for him to recover his career but can't help but feel he missed his chance to propel himself after his loan spell finished with us. The decision to go back and challenge De Gea was ill informed.

Would have him back here in a heartbeat but lots of these lads are pricing themselves out of regular football (see Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, etc..) once they sign with a big player and then don't quite make the cut.

No doubt that Henderson would be an upgrade on Wes, but Wes is a decent keeper.

If we're capable of committing the cash it would take to get Henderson in I'd rather we spent it at the other end of the field as I see goals for being much more of a problem than goals against as things stand.

Sorry if you could remove the extra 0 that would be great, once done ill get on with signing it, dont want to pricing myself out of a move to some mid-table also-rans in 3 years time should this not play out as planned.

It’s very disappointing that some players choose to think first and foremost about the money.
His best performances as a player were here. He would be assured to start games, and certainly get plenty of chance to show his ability again.
With the money he’s been on he’s already a millionaire, and he’s unhappy where he is and unlikely to play.
Shame he can’t turn to Man U and just say “I’m happy to go, reduce the fee and I will take only a small fraction of what I would be owed to sit here on my ass and get paid.
There has to be a figure where it’s financially sound for Man U to take that?

He’d open up many more options, be happy again and be back to his best, pushing for England spot.
