Anel, Anis……the team sheet could start to sound like my school Latin conjugation exercises….
Amo, Amas....Yep, I endured that too at school. A haunting chant from The Kop based on Derilium, Silence tune should be up someone's street on here!

Just spoken to another Brøndby fan, who thinks that it’s the right time for him to move on. Doesn’t think his attitude is that great, can be a problem off the pitch. Thinks that he is overweight and that the sublime through balls are not seen enough.
A move out of his current environment and the opportunity to prove himself could be the making of him but he doesn’t think that he is Premier League level

Not to be too down on the signing, but you'd expect if he were going to make an impact in the PL he'd at least be a regular starter in the Danish league, arriving with glowing reviews.
Seems a real mixed bag from the bits I've picked up on Twitter.
A lot of upside in the price we've paid but not somebody we would want to be relying on to hit the ground running in his first year of PL football.
Hopefully this is more of a punt than somebody we're seeing as a solution to our first XI issues.
But I doubt it.

Sheffieldunited.news literally just rehashes any gossip from the internet. It's got no actual source of information, there's no need to click on it if you read this forum anyway. It's presumably just someone doing it for advertising revenue.
True this, I know the kid that does the articles and I can definitely say he has absolutely no ITK from anybody inside United what so ever.

We’re a PL side signing a player for less than two million quid here. To expect him to be a top prospect with no issues is a stretch.

At 2 million quid in the current market I’m not even expecting him to be able to control a football with any competence at all. Anything better than ‘looks like he’s never played before’ is a bonus at that price.

Its the pond we’re fishing in.

What this says to me is there’s no buyer on the horizon. We are “mending and making do” with current squad patched up with what we can afford. Don’t expect out gems to be like Brentford’s and Brighton's starlets.

What a stupid statement that is ffs
Hi Stegosaurus here,

False

2 million Euros is a good price for a 22 year old international player with almost 30 caps. If you say otherwise, then you clearly don't know anything about football. What other midfielders of the same level can we get for 2 million? Very few. Even Glenn Kamara--around the same level but in his late 20s, carries a 4 million price tag.

Fact.

If only we'd paid a bit more for that Iliman Ndiaye bloke - he might have been a much bettter player then!

Ndiaye came cheap but then spent a year or two finding his feet in our academy and being drip fed into the first team in the Championship.

It's a really tall order to make an impact in the PL in your first season coming out of the Danish league.

For those referencing Anel, he had played football at a much higher level than Brondby before coming here and had earned rave reviews everywhere he'd been.
It's a different situation.

Not sure why a lot are focusing on the price tag, Anel cost 3/4m and he's outstanding! Let's see how he plays before casting judgement. It doesn't matter if it's 2m or 20m!
Hi Stegosaurus here,

Agreed.

We paid over 20 million for Brewster and he's gash. I'm not sure why people are sniffing and snorting because he's only two million and automatically deciding he's shit.

Agree. It’s a weird obsession some fans of every club have. Transfer fees are dependent on so many different factors, so comparing one to the other is pointless.

I think the general consensus is that Slimane has the technical ability to be a top class player, it's just how often he applies himself which is the issue.

No offense to Brondby but now he's playing at a higher level I'm going to back him to raise his game to match.

Can’t say I’m sold on him

Though it’s better to sign 9/10 for a couple of mill than sign one rhian Brewster

There’s bound to be a few duds but hopefully some gems

I thought he made his debut in PL v Leicester, then pretty much frozen out because of his contract situation?
Then once he got back into team, very soon became an important part of it?

He’s going to cost less than Ben Osborn did, to manage everyone’s expectations.
But for balance, more the Ndaiye did..............

I suspect PH dream midfield squad would be Berge, Doyle (perm), McAtee (loan), Norwood, O'Brien (perm)

If Slimane joins, he will go behind those, alongside Fleck, Osborn, Coulibaly

£2m, for a 30cap international whos got time to develop aged 22 is worth a punt

Caciedo went to Brighton for £4.5m, now £85m (FFS?!)

Its the market were in, buy 5 of these, 3 will be duds, 1 will be ok and 1 will (hopefully) be great

Exactly this, I swear some people just want to be negative no matter what this club does.

WE CAN'T AFFORD READY MADE PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYERS.

I think calling them duds is disrespectful to the player and the scouts involved.
It's difficult to judge who will come through and reach the top from being a good prospect, plenty of really skillfull ,talented players fall by the wayside.
Now clubs can sign 6 foreign players the opportunity is there to use the freedom that brings.
Premiership clubs will be taking this opportunity ( and we are one). Not talking of 16/17 year olds! But one's who are showing real signs of making it big who won't come on freebies! !
Triaori is a good example,
We may not get him ! Just a good example.
