Osborn will never play 30+ games in a season for us. The reason is simple, he's not first team quality. He's "ok" in bits and fill ins. For this reason, he and united would be better off parting ways for him to get first team football.
I think you've just made the perfect case for why he should stay.

He won't play 30 games in a season but he can cover in 4 or 5 roles and as a number 24/25 in a squad that is very useful.

His 86 league games in 4 seasons gives you a sense of his usefulness. Aged 28, he's probably at his peak.

This is fucking outrageous, I’m fucking outraged…
You are right to be, it's a fucking joke. City centre will be full of pig wandering around in theirs, giving it large and fucking Error, or whatever they are called won't even have the designs off the table. Fucking pathetic.

How hard is red and white stripes FFS

We're under the auspices of the Premiership in July,I think.
I believe we will be invited to become a member of the EPL on June 10 as a pre cursor to the fixtures being issued on 15 June. Until the 10th we remain under the jurisdiction of the EFL.

Ithankyou for the info.🌞🌞🌞

Yep, I'm all for continuity but there is a line. FWIW I'd offer deals to:

McBurnie
Norwood
Robinson
Foderingham

All on the proviso they are squad/ backup to first XI.

I'd retain Coulibaly and loan him to L1/ Champ.

No offer to:

Stevens
Fleck
Osborn
JOC
Sharp (heavy heart)

However, it sounds like the offered list will be longer than the above 5 and I think a recent interview intimated Sharp had been made an offer, for example.
Billy Sharp to Bradford City,apparently.

Yes. I think I saw a video from Harry Rednapp saying Billy Sharp has not signed for Doncaster Rovers. So obviously at that point, he had signed for Doncaster Rovers and I now he’s off to Bradford.
Fair play to him, wants to keep playing every week at 37 and would expect him to notch at that level.
Elsewhere reports that Norwood has triggered an extension and also McBurnie so I think things are shaking out as expected.

Spot on. When potentially renewing his contract you have to ask yourself all things being equal and for the overall cost of his new contract is he the best that we could attract or is there others (probably younger) players we could obtain for the same outlay throughout the football league/PL. If the answer is he is definitely the best we can attract then by all means offer him a contract. If he's not, then quite simply let him go. After watching him these last 3 years I'm of the opinion that there are better out there for the same or even less of a financial outlay. He is also injury prone. Time to cut him loose.
Plus he's crap

EFL have to publish all clubs retained / released list by Saturday 10 June. So no doubt United will wait for the EFL to reveal all on the last day it can be released. Get your diary set for next Saturday then before checking the EFL website.

Good move for Billy going to Bradford. McCall probs pulled a few strings to get him a good deal and development into management with Hughes.

Agree. It's a great move if true.

I think League 2 is probably the best level for him to have a notable impact now at his age.

Going to a big club at that level chasing promotion in front of 20k crowds a lot of weeks.

Whys everyone getting their knickers in a twist about the retained list FFS?

I guess this is an example of why its not ready to disclose yet

We offer Billy a coaching role on a much reduced salary. He wants to carry on playing, and explores his options with our offer on the table

Finds a playing role at a local club where he will score goals and play in front of decent crowds for another year or 2.

in that time we cant say hes released as he may accept our offer, neither can we says he retained as he may go - so best thing to do is say nowt until its all sorted - simple.

Recent transfer dealings have done pretty decent of late, apart from falling for Wilders bully boy tactics - he wanted Brewster and wasnt bothered about Berge o_O

MGW (hit), Anel (hit), Doyle (hit), McAtee (hit), Clark (ish), Khedra (miss)

Keeping Berge & Illy in Jan (hit)

Norwood seemingly triggered his own extension by hitting set appearances, the delay there may have been that his contract stated an additional year on £xxpw money, however he may have been angling for increase as we got promoted?

Surely we have to let the club do what it needs to do in the correct timeframe, long as its in by Saturday who cares
