Looking like being surplus to requirements at the end of the season after burning his bridges with Wolves and not impressing at Everton. Seen a few twitter accounts mooting a return to us could be on the cards?

Aye
questions:-
How much ?!? - wages !
Why is he not getting game time @ 2 of the poor(er) teams in the Prem?
Anyone else interested?
Would he be mentioned / ‘considered’ if he hadn’t played for us?

Good player, but too expensive a signing for a position (RCB, CB) we're not desperate for.

There's not many premier league experienced, internationally capped, former club captains knocking about that would be within our price range.

I think if the initial fee was realistic (£2m or under) and he didn't want daft wages we'd be mad not to go for him. Even if we went down he'd easily be one of the best 3 defenders in the championship the season after.

He'll be on about 60k a week.
The fee wouldn't be below £5/6m.
It's a big outlay. If he was left footed I'd say go for it, but it's too much for what we need in his position.

Wolves have just been prepared to loan him out for the season so I can't imagine the fee would be more than £3/4m. He's reportedly on £55k a week, which again he isn't going to get in his next contract.
He's a natural leader with tons of Prem experience, who went to the world cup with england 6 months ago....If he's available for under £4m and 40kish a week then I personally think we should be all over it.

As what though? Back up / competition to Anel, Egan?

Super sub, a back up that would fit straight in to the required CB slot. Major competition for said slot with knowledge, leadership and all the rest to go with it.

know there are other areas that need looking at before centre back but we definetly need another centre back to come in and for me its a no brainer if the financial side of things at the club allows it

You can say what you want about his experience etc BUT if we are signing a centre back I want a 6ft 4in monster who clears everything out. Forwards in tje premier league are getting bigger, stronger and faster and Cody isn't big, isn't that strong and isn't that quick.

IF he’s available @ the figures (plucked out of thin air : 4m / 40k why wouldn’t other (more attractive clubs be ‘in’for him ?
May as well say Maguire is ‘surplus to requirements’ @ Manure, let’s get “ all over it”

If folk are going to fantasise about spunking money we’d be better going ‘all in’ on Skilliman

We're going to sign England international Conor Coady are we? What a world.

Can he play in goal?
Seriously, if he signs for a new club and accepts £40k/week he should sack his agent.
If he were left footed I think he'd be great at LCB but as he's not, he'd be very expensive cover for Egan and Anel.

Conor Coady considering where we are shopping as lets face it once we've paid our debts we're shopping more at aldi than even morrisons,

if we can get Coady for a free or even a few million. he would be a great signing he's 30. where else are you going to get solid center back, with 5 years experience in PL, 173 premier league appearances, Former England International for that cheap

Let's get Flint from the wendies .... Coady would be a great signing

Aye
The answer to your question is nowhere:
Not even Wolves / Everton reserves

Like most, if he was LCB it would be a no brainer but I wouldn't want to be spending a fee and big wages on a back-up for Egan and Anel, would rather have a younger player pushing them trying to get in the side even if unproven in prem.

All these old pro's wanting a pension top up, like the Wilder days, Jags, Rodwell, Wright etc, use the money on some decent younger players, we'll be coming out to the Summer wine theme next!

LCB......?

What else would the plan be?

Might be a reasonable option if there are no stand out options for that position

Then you also have a player who can cover everywhere else
