I really dont think we should forget signings. The problem is when you're not proactive and you don't keep updating things then it all needs replacing at the same time at more costs.

We need a new training ground
Current one renovating
and 5/6 players within the next 4 weeks

Good to see some things dont change

I suppose it depends on how thinly we want to be spread so to speak. We could easily do a deal to accommodate the U16/U18/U23s and womens at a uni say Hallam and have them on the shirts as sleeve sponsors. The first team could use an upgraded shirecliffe and the rest of the academy could be teamed up with another "feeder club" with facilities such as Sheffield FC or similar. We already have Shirecliffe so for me either way we need to be keeping it for some part of the club to use as training. Or the first team and U23s could go to Hallam Uni with Shirecliffe used as the development academy centre

The club have bought into the fact that we need a category one academy and all be it late it is now being addressed

In terms of the academy mate if the goal is to go Cat One then it’s not just about finding them pitches they also need the requisite number of dedicated classrooms, gym space, meeting rooms and treatment rooms. Can’t see us getting that elsewhere.

I would rather spend the bare minimum for a couple of years, tread water and stay in this league and build a first class new training ground and academy than spend all our money and transfer with increasingly crumbling infrastructure.

Problem is, no permanent singings last season means we're in a situation where we have to sign some players

Unfortunately people pay their money to watch their team & expect immediate results.

The owners also need immediate results for their finances. I’m not sure we’re in a position to spend £5m on a training ground instead of a player.

The problem is the training ground should have been updated in the premiership as Wilder requested when we had more money coming in (I’m not team wilder by the way).

Now we’re fighting a losing battle financially & players are getting injured on the current set up .

It should have been and whether that is the Board or Wilder's fault will probably never be entirely know.

For the long term future of the club, it needs to take precedence. We can't put it off in the vein hope we'll get promoted.

We'll not be spending £5 million on a player though, regardless.

Maybe we have secretly built a training ground and are going to release the kits at the same time as unveiling them...

I understand that there is a large grant from the French Government which is helping to subsidise the total cost so not really comparable to SUFC. They would have been daft not to build it in those circumstances. Good on them. About time we cracked on with ours. I'd even go as far as to say if we sold Berge this season then the vast majority of the money raised should go into funding improvements at the Academy/new site for the first team. A one off payment for a facility that we can use for many years.

Yeah I think they were acquired as part of the group after work on it was underway

Nearly finished the new pitch’s . Drainage all done with loads of gravel and a deep layer of sand. 3G Desso is dew to be sown into the grass in around 3 weeks. Should be ready by November. Pitches will then be same as the lane.UEFA A standard . Cost £1.8m out of the budget this year.

This is incredible news!

Cant edit my previous post. To add We didn't have enough money to have every bit of it undersoil heating, we have been clever with how we have figured that out and we have joined that up.
To get a full pitch we would have to go across the way but then you can have as big as you want. So one full size, virtually, not quite as big as Bramall Lane and a three-quarter one. 1st team can all train on Desso at least.

Well done to the club for getting this sorted and financing it

Weerz Sniper?

Having the same Desso pitch to train on as the one that they play on is a massive step forward (with apologies for the use of the M word)
