Where does it say it will take 2 years to be ready.Positive update albeit 2 years for the first team site to be ready however, academy at Shirecliffe up to Cat 1 status.
"The best situation is we get the first team on another piece of land and we have factored that in at the moment. But we know that even if we get a bit of land today it's still two years before they are on it because you have to design it all, you have to get planning for it and then you have to build it."Where does it say it will take 2 years to be ready.

We tried for Norton Ludlam council said no diceMakes you wonder why they ever got rid of Myrtle Road.
Did the club ever own that land or was it leased from the council?
Off the top of my head, a list of some places that are close to Bramall Lane and could potentially work either as the temporary fix or the permanent solution (no matter how unlikely or how much work they'd need)...
Norton Aerodrome
Sheffield Works Dept
Sport Sheffield
Arbourthorne Rec
East Bank Rd
Like I say, no matter how unlikely.
Any more for any more?
There must be somewhere towards the peaks. I know most of it isn't flat but HSBC playing pitches/Tigers are out that way and most of the players will live that side of town so easier for them.Makes you wonder why they ever got rid of Myrtle Road.

Are you sure??? I heard that Sander has a 2 up 2 down on the Flower Estate because it was handy for training and quiz night at the Roman Ridge. There must be somewhere towards the peaks. Thread ruined……Where the money coming from for it.

“I'd say reading between the lines we are skint”HSBC has some lovely, flat pitches as does Warminster Road but the latter is owned by the University. Ironic that this site that we used to train at under Bassett but is now one of the best areas (× 4) in the city and has better changing rooms probably than Shirecliffe too.
As for other areas for the first team. we would need at least 2-3 pitches that are flat with chance for decent changing areas etc. Most top flight sides have a pool, hydrotherapy, gym and weights room too.
It seems a quick fix to just find another Shirecliffe type set up for the first team and surely we'd been in same position in 10 years and still need to move.
It is concerning that after 5 years we have not been able to find somewhere in the city to redevelop where we can have the academy/first team in one place.
It all seems very clumsy, doing up a place that's not up to scratch and will need constant maintenance. Then finding a different site for the first team so it won't be incorporated and will split stuff in two.
I'm no property/architect expert but the notion the club can't find any space to redevelop for say 7 or 8 pitches and a building in the whole of the city seems far fetched. I'd say reading between the lines we are skint and are just bodging stuff. Again. Seems like United will never change and never show any ambition/professionalism to do things properly.
Any idea why he moved?Stevens lived in a new build at Lower Mosborough, or Upper Westfield to be more geographically accurate.

They need to invest in it properly. There's not loads of unused football pitches on flat land laying around. They need to find an unused concreted site and pay to develop it or find somewhere outside of town, in Derbyshire or Yorkshire and develop it. Even if that means levelling land. Either way it will need a lot of money and time to sort it out but we're great at kicking the can down the road.HSBC has some lovely, flat pitches as does Warminster Road but the latter is owned by the University. Wasn't the NHS site up at the aerodrome the problem for a all in training facility and academy? Maybe a smaller site for just the first team would fit in on the bit the council own I wouldn't rule it out just yet.If you have a quick look on Google earth it's pretty obvious why we're struggling to find a site. There's very few spaces big enough in the city and those that are, more often than not are parks or owned by schools, or other sports clubs.
Unless the council are happy to release some greenbelt outside the city, I can see us continuing to struggle. It's a shame Norton Aerodrome didn't work out.
Too small. TC didnt like training thereIs the old Ball Inn pitch we used to play om available?
Totally this then. Then consider what sites there are;If you have a quick look on Google earth it's pretty obvious why we're struggling to find a site. There's very few spaces big enough in the city and those that are, more often than not are parks or owned by schools, or other sports clubs.
