Build it on BL. Like Bilbao did to theirs. A 40k cheaper version of WHL would do me. We don't need the cheese rooms, or do we?
I remember when we got rid of the cricket pitch and thought then that we should have realigned the pitch. A bit of imagination would have left more room to build better stands on both John st and Bramall Lane. The powers that be virtually left the pitch where it was and built the stand alongside it. If we had taken 20 metres off the car park, we could have done so much more with John Street.
Even now, there is room at the back of the kop to move the pitch across leaving room to develop the away end.
The whole site must be one of the biggest of any inner city grounds. You can tell that we have added bits on without having a long term plan. It's a pity because potentially it could have been a tremendous ground.

York City have a lovely new stadium ................ outside the city in the middle of nowhere tagged onto an entertainment park. Its sterile characterless and not a pub anywhere to be seen. Hope we never do anything like this!
And yet, our own "facilities" are so poor that our U21 team have to use York City as their main home ground.

Yeh that's one reason why I ended up going there. Just hope we never move from the Lane to the middle of nowhere ..... oh and if affordable provide closer and better 'facilities' for the U21 team.

I’ve just watched The Ovelap on Crystal Palace “What it takes to run a premier league club”.

It’s worth a look to give perspective to our position. The facilities needed, the investment, the administrative and leadership skills, all to hold station at the top.

To my prejudiced mind, Palace are a nothing club who exploit their location close to London money. But they’ve exploited it well and now appear light years ahead of many traditionally bigger clubs.

I just hope we can go some way to bridging this gap with new PL money.

We won't bridge the gap whilever we have owners who want out.

We'd need owners to come in with resources and a long-term vision.

As you say, we're miles off it off the field.

Another way to look at it is we are way ahead of most teams
Yet another way of looking at it is we are light years ahead of our local rivals who when i first started supporting the blades were so far out of sight it wasnt even a possibility we would be in the positions we are now

And yet another way of looking at it is if we hadnt been promoted this season we wouldnt be and you would really have something to be permanently sulky flaps about

The conversation was about the Premier League, not Sheffield Wednesday.

I know but instead of focusing on why we cant bridge the gap between us and crystal palace who have spent the best part of a decade in the premier league just remember that they werent always like that

Tgey were a yo yo club too but with a bit of luck ,good decision making and backing ( financially and vocally ) they are where they are and we are in the early stages of that process and that should be something to get excited about not throwing a tantrum like kevin and perry

I pointed out we need new ownership to bridge the gap and that we're miles off it at present.

Do you actually disagree or are you having another tantrum because I'm not giving it the sunshine and rainbows act you seem to crave whenever anybody discusses United?

You have to have the right people with the right experience and ideas in place as well as the money

Forget signing players, first and foremost we must fix that training ground over the summer to avoid the ridiculous number of long term injuries that it's caused this season and last season. The board simply must find the funds for this. Wilder raised his concerns four years ago and nothing has changed. Arguably this has cost us promotion.

Having lost O'Connell for two seasons, Berge for the whole of last season, Sharp, Basham, Brewster, Bogle, Baldock, Stevens, Didsy and McBurnie (no loss there really) on top of that for lengthy periods, there are no acceptable excuses for not addressing this as a priority.
Staying in Prem is priority and not being embarrassing in it

This, We saw last time that even if you have a good season a bit of bad luck and standing still means you can then get bombed out.

Lordy, there is some happy souls on here on a Saturday neet! Fuck Blades. Enjoy life.

Yeah it’s a top training ground/academy. The latest Overlap is with Kompany, Burnley training ground looks good, out in the country side with fields and hills, looks a great setting to train in.
