Couldn’t get to see the game. Just watched the highlights. Them goals they scored were through terrible defending. Shame to lose to goals like that but when you play against a team that cost nearly a billion to ours that probably cost 60 million it’s such a task to get anything from these games.

The only thing I was disappointed with is seeing Fleck and Norwood and not Brooks and Coulibaly play from the start.

Hope everyone had a good match day experience and get/got home safe.

Weird game really. It felt like Man City would inevitably score and just win, and they did.

We defended really well for most of the first half and had the best chance.

Silly from Jebbo, but strikers aren't exactly known for their great tackling skills. I thought he was ok considering until then.

Mistake from Lowe sealed it really. We struggled second half but it's not like our goal was under assault.

3:0 loss to Man City is far from embarrassing though and it was always going to end in defeat.

It has to be said though that their second was embarrassing at any level of football. Talk about no one taking responsibility. I'm surprised Mahrez didn't just walk it into the net

I thought we did really world against a world class side.

Our shape and discipline without the ball was excellent 👌

The first two goals were from our own mistakes which happens in football.

Unfortunately when we got the ball we needed to be better but that being said we did create a couple of decent chances that if we had our away could have changed the game slightly.

I think if we'd managed to get in 0-0 at HT then it could have been different.

The penalty killed it for me.

I'm reluctant to say Man City were there for the taking because they're a quality team but they did look off it today and Haaland never had a sniff.

But hey ho, we've had a good day out and we certainly didn't get embarrassed.

Now on to promotion on Wednesday night.

Might promotion all but be done and dusted tomorrow with a Boro v Luton draw ?

Exactly my thoughts.

Would say sort of enjoyed today but knew was always gonna be a loss.

Enjoyed hull one more.

Thought atmosphere was very up and down but at times quiet all through the stadium. City fans didn't seem that loud, but it doesn't carry well the sound in there.

Lastly not that it should bother us but I reckon we may have only sold about 28k or something looking at it and seeing other angles. Bit poor but alot didn't go because we drew city to be honest. Didn't they?

This is what you pay your money for.

I’ve shared my view on this before, but for me the difference in good players and great players isn’t that one off worldly, it’s that they do the basics better and make fewer mistakes. That consistency costs more money.

Jebbo will learn from it that sometimes it’s enough to be there defensively, you don’t need to force the issue.

Shame but we’ll hopefully be stronger next time we play them.

Before the match many people, Blades included, would have predicted a 6 nil battering.
We didn't get battered in scoreline or play.
They are clearly world class of course and in most areas of the pitch can and did outplay us.
We had our chances and played a good match with just one yellow all game.
With performances like that and some tweaks we will be fine in the Prem.
Well done Blades on and off the pitch, couldn't be prouder.

An old Brian Clough comment prior to taking over Champions Leeds in the mid-70’s came to me while watching Man City’s arid style of football under Pep yesterday:

“Football is a beautiful game, Austin.

It needs to be played beautifully.

I think Leeds
have sold themselves short.

They've been champions,
but they've not been good champions.

In the sense of wearing the crown well.

They've not been loved.”

Kind of hope they don’t win the CL under his regime.

Their style brings Red Star Belgrade’s CL victory back to mind.

Red Star had settled for penalties before kick-off! A dire watch.

Quick thoughts on the day/game.

Negatives first:

- As ever with these events and the Blades it was an anti-climax.

- Thought the atmosphere and support was pretty poor and the spread of fans didn’t help.

- Lots of empty seats in the Blades end, really disappointing and the club need to look at what they could have done to change this.

- Bit of a belly tickling in the end and after the first 2 mins we never looked like scoring.

- Spent a small fortune inside the ground, donuts, candy floss and a couple of rounds of beer.

- Some of our players looked well below the standard required to compete against top teams, hopefully this will be addressed.

- Still not seen us score in open play in a ‘big occasion’ since the pig game in the early 90’s (I was on holiday for the Hull semi). Ndiaye really should have given me something to cheer early on.

Positives:

- Kids really enjoyed the day and loved Wembley.

- Tier 2 is definitely worth the extra money, maybe a bit sanitised but very good service and concourse.

- Saw Bradshaw, Quinn and Geary as well as Mrs and Mini Ndiaye, also saw Andy Nicholson.

- Some of our players acquitted themselves really well against very good players.

- Didn’t see anyone acting the dickhead, albeit we got dropped off near Wembley Way and picked up near there after so was a limited exposure.

- Glad Billy and Bash got a runaround at Wembley in the twilight of their careers.

The game went largely as I thought, other than we hung in longer than I thought we would and they took the foot off the gas earlier than I thought they would. Just a shame Jebbo didn’t show a bit of brain on the penalty then a mistake by Lowe and the parting of our defence afterwards for the 2nd.

Baldock and Anel MoM’s for me.

Wow exactly like me as this applies to me as well, I was away for the Hull game like you.
This also includes the Old Trafford Arsenal and Newcastle games 😳

Yeah, Wolves, Arsenal and Newcastle plus all the Wembley trips.

I didn’t even see us score the pens against Huddersfield because I faced away.

Yes Wolves as well. I did watch the pens against Huddersfield and I am still watching for Simmos pen
to come down. I wasn’t going to go yesterday but in the end just couldn’t miss it having seen all the others
and I was hoping we would score.

What? Am I missing a woosh moment? Cloughie (I was at his last game cheering him like all the blades fans that day) would have loved city.

Our defence was playing so well first half I would have bet a pound too a pinch of snuff that the Referee would give a penalty the first chance he got, and he did.
It was the only way they could make us come out of defence and chase the game,
Having said that, no hard feeling at all because without their loan players would we be where we are now in the League ?
And given the choice, personally, I much prefer the Promotion........ 👍 👍 👍

Must depend where you sit as I thought our fans were brilliant. Even watching back on the telly you could hear us quite loud. Thought it was one of the best atmospheres we’ve had at Wembley.

I can’t agree, thought they were superb, unbelievably good at controlling the game.
Felt we didn’t really have ago at them though.

I watched west Brom yesterday, they look a poor team with a sprinkling of good individuals. Sunderland couldn't defend and the Baggies only got one. Keep our nerve and it should be a straightforward win..........

Good luck to WBA, they are gonna need it. The Blades will be so up for this it won't be funny, for Albion anyway.

If you're thinking of watching this one in the pub you might have a problem as it's Shitty Arse at the same time.
