haha we had 7 on target i think. 21 total. i lost interestin you when we lost to hudders to. proper depressing result that. auto chances totally over after a defeat like that.
only messing with ya
I was actually surprised to.see you missed any chances as you normally score from every shot

I want that P by our name on the league table as soon as possible so I hope they draw.

I’d then like Luton to come up through the play offs. They’ve done really well since getting up to the championship. They’re probably less likely to do well in the prem compared to boro. Boros fans have come across as a set of arrogant twats for a lot of the season so fuck em.
Agree with most of this apart from that Luton would do worse in the PL. Although Boro have more flair, I reckon Luton have shown through the season they are tougher to beat.

💯 job done mate

Luton would have to win all 3, and I don’t think they will win both Blackburn and boro, but even if they did we would have to draw 1 and lose 3
This wouldn’t be dropping off a cliff form, it would actually be investigated for corruption!

Last 10 games = Luton have gained 1 point more than us, Burnley 1 less and Boro 4 less

Yet to hear some of us, and the “manager of the year” panel, were bottom half sleep walking towards relegation

Sometimes we need to realise we actually are quite good, and stop fuckin the whinging

Shhhh 🤫
Don't tell, well, you know, almost every newspaper or pundit about that run!

If they draw, we are promoted while not playing really, because Luton could match our points but not GD
If we don't get another point, and Luton win all their games, the current goal difference could easily swing in their favour.
Four 1-0 defeats takes the goal differences down to
Most likely but 12 over 6 games isn’t impossible, though unlikely
It would , at least, be down to 8GD if we lost the next 4 games!!!!

If I select 6 balls that match the ones that come out of that there machine I’ll be a millionaire come Sat night

Of course a draw would be perfect, but I would rather Luton win on Monday than Middlesbrough. I can see Middlesbrough winning all their remaining games this season, when they are in form it is difficult to stop them.

Sorry but a draw for me

I want it over and done with as quick as possible

12 goals 'easily' ?? They'd have two games left. We'd need to lose every game and them win by two clear goals both games. Possible, but not likely or easy.
I'm not saying them drawing Boro seals the deal it doesn't, it just pushed it further to the realms of highly unlikely.
Either way, we beat WBA and celebrate in style.

Just accept that we're up, enjoy, and stop worrying about permutations about this, that or the other which now have no bearing on the outcome.

Nothing can possibly go wrong now.

Very much agree.

It did make me laugh when Boro would 9 out of 10 league matches.
So the logic from our fans was they would continue with this form and win the next 9 out of 10 matches and continue this to the end of the season.

History shows that teams can look world beaters, thrashing every team in sight for a few matches but even those special teams
come a cropper and have spells of struggle. Sometimes the reason is, at some point a team has bad luck,

Even in the last few weeks many Blades are making points targets based on Luton and Boro winning all their remaining matches.
We are currently on 82 points and it's even possible that could be enough. I reckon realistically, 1 more point (a draw) from our last 4 games will be enough.

Relegation form, or rather bottom of the league by a mile form, gets us up. I don't really think we need to worry too much about the permutations now. We have 2 home games in a row, lets just make sure we confirm it in those 2 games for a nice celebration in front out a packed house.

It's crazy how perfectly this has all turned out

All but confirmed right before Wembley
Celebration at Wembley
Officially confirmed right after Wembley in 1 of 2 home games
Can't get promoted while we're not playing
Actually relax for last 2 or 3 games

The fans can't ask for anymore. It's so smooth It's untrue, and we hardly know how to take it

I think Boro will get a result btw, with The Great Chuba Benzema bagging at least 2. Then we'll play out a mutually agreeable draw with WBA to secure the P
" It's crazy how perfectly this as all turned out"
Just what I was thinking, very rarely do we play on a Wednesday, but how ironic, we beat WBA and get promoted back to the Premier league on a Wednesday, just to rub their snouts in it a bit more. Lovely Jubliee.

I reckon luton will get 77 (draw with boro, lose at Blackburn and draw with Hull when they rest their first team for the play offs) and Boro 80 (the luton draw, win at Rotherham and also draw their last game v Coventry as they rest players)

On that basis, we're there :-) I think we'll get a steady draw v WBA to send us up mathematically, play super relaxed football to hammer a nervous Preston, get a draw at battling Hudds and win at Brum with both teams on the beach and our quality shining through.

That gives us 90 points and promoted by 10 :-)

Forgot Forest missed out on the play offs a few years ago despite only needing a point from their last four games. Then there had to be a 5 goal swing in the last game for Swansea to overtake them, a Brewster wonder goal helped them do it.
Fooking hell, that is a shocker. It ain't over till.....

As for the question in the op, a draw moves us closest to the goal, so I'd like that thankyou

So reminding myself:
Boro win and they can get 83.
Luton win and they can get 84.
Draw and Luton can get 82.

In the latter case it’s ‘extremely unlikely’ that in 2 games Luton overhaul a +12 goal difference. It would need all games to provide a two goal margin and even then we’ve scored 11 more so we’d have to concede that too.

Draw would be very nice. Though I’m sure we’d just like to win the next one and we can “Forget the maths!”

A draw for me tonight please to remove any pressure on our squad and then clinch it on the day between Tuesday and Thursday.

We have, virtually, 5 goes at this sealing promotion thingy, everything has to go against us in all 5 outcomes to not happen. In fact there's more than 5,because there's all the other times for them to do it for us.

We are 1/500 favourites to win promotion. Luton Town 11/4 and Middlesbrough 7/4 but this will change after the game tonight!

Blades fans when Boro are in third - “It’s over, blown it, they’ll not drop points and we’ll slip up now.”

Luton to win their next two (including tonight) and us to lose our next two ONLY is 155/1.

I think it will be cagey tonight,Boro to make the running and Luton closing them down,as is the 2 styles. Both teams will take a 1-0 I think, survive the match and the winner to see what we do before attempting to fix their GD in their remaining 2.

3-3 humdinger of a game tonight

a draw does just about end it tonight, a win for either just prolongs the inevitable

watched West Brom lose to Sunderland and they didn't look as good as when we won 2-0 at the Hawthorns
