He hasn’t been a scapegoat - he’s been shite for long periods. And at the moment he’s good.If Berge isn't careful the scapegoat tag will be passed on to Max Lowe.

Wow he was best player on park bar noneI'm not sure what people saw today. He kept slowing the game down, takes far too much time on the ball and get caught out far too often. Yes, he's good with time on the ball but all to often he's myopic and just ambles in one direction and telegraphs what he's going to do. He was ok today, overall, but nothing much more.
Excellent today - 3rd game in a row - sitting deep with someone beside him - really seems to have made a difference.
If we keep putting a bit of energy around him there’s a good chance he might.Agree...whilst recognising his ability I'm normally frustrated and quite critical
but no complaints from me today.....this is more like it and how he should play most games.
Good point and got me thinking. There was probably Bogle too?He is perhaps the only Wilder PL signing that could be regarded as a success and for sure the only one that has, broadly speaking, retained his commercial value.
UTB
Have to agree with that.Good point and got me thinking. There was probably Bogle too?
Better than Tommy Doyle ? er ...okWow he was best player on park bar none

Exactly right. Sort of the opposite to Oli who makes everything look hard work, and therefore gets the plaudits [and that's not slagging McB off].The problem with this opinion is Berge makes everything look so easy. Too many of our fans think because he's not running around like a headless chicken that he's bang average.
He receives the ball absolutely all over the pitch, often under pressure and very rarely looks phased by it. He turns out of pressure effortlessly and recycles possesion, very rarely losing it.
I thought he was really good today and has been whenever we've played to his strengths.
In a midfield 3 with Norwood and Fleck he looks bang average because that 3 has absolutely no balance and Fleck is sadly finished.
Well that’s no different to all the Berge haters jumping on any mistake he makes to say ‘I told you so….These Rolls Royce fans have been waiting for this day and aren't going to let something like another player being better get it the way of their gloating! Jees, they've waited long enough to be able to point at him and say 'I told you so'...

That’s the issue with a polarised viewpoint
It was a good day today and Sander had a good day, that’ll do for me
The problem with berge is people expect him to be pogba/de bruyne/intesta/xavi/scholes into one cause he cost £20 mill , every player in the Prem costs that
He is a very very good player who has had to learn a new position imo
We signed him as Norwood and have barely played him in that role
I think berge wants the ball all the time to control everything but that’s what Norwood does so they get in each others way
Example today where berge looked great as he had the ball all the time instead of Norwood getting in the same position IMO
Mom. Lowe also surprisingly in with a shout mainly due to an excellent defensive performance. Doyle scored a screamer and overall played well but he also played a big part in their second and the big chance they had to kill it when they hit the post. If that was Norwood or God forbid Berge missing those tackles...
There was a lack of movement up top again today. The only one of Oli, Ndiaye and Mcatee to run in behind was Mcatee who made a number of excellent third man runs. You can't blame Berge for retaining the ball when there's no movement in front of him. The choice then is lump it, pass backwards or sideways or drive with it it ( especially if playing higher). The amount of times he's looking for a forward option, had none and had to take extra touches is frustrating and has been a recurring theme for months tbh.
Personally thought berge was more than ok yesterday, put himself about and played a team roll, for the goals when your outnumbered its hard to cover all the options,
I don't understand why he jumped allowing the ball under where his legs could have been had he stood there.Berge's positioning for both goals last night was abysmal. He wasn't the main culprit for either goal, but footballs a team game, and you've got to be alert for the second ball. He was neither use nor ornament for either goal.
It was a cold night and the guy kicked it hard. He was afraid it would sting if it hit him.I don't understand why he jumped allowing the ball under where his legs could have been had he stood there.
Oooh the old Mitre Multiplex imprint on the thigh on a frosty Sunday morning up on Barkers ParkIt was a cold night and the guy kicked it hard. He was afraid it would sting if it hit him.
Thart luckeh thiz no laces in em anymoor.Lacerations ah tell thiOooh the old Mitre Multiplex imprint on the thigh on a frosty Sunday morning up on Barkers Park
Agreed, there was something a bit neshy about the way he leapt into the air and went to turn his back for one of the goals. I thought they were trained to stay on the ground in the situation and raise a boot to try and block or somethingI don't understand why he jumped allowing the ball under where his legs could have been had he stood there.
