The key issues for me at the moment are:
lack of competition
Partly because of injuries, partly money and partly because Hecky makes bizarre subs and won’t drop some players, there’s no threat of being on the bench for too many people. Footballers play better when someone is desperate for the shirt. Berge has been drifting for weeks (though was slightly better yesterday), Bogle is the same, Lowe is too cautious, Ndiaye and McBurnie also seem to be lacking confidence.
They need someone on the bench and they need to know if they’re not doing it, they’re gettting hooked then dropped next week.
Not getting the ball to our best players enough
Ndiaye doesn’t get the ball enough. He has to win it himself a lot of the time. Yesterday was mind boggling - lump it to McBurnie for a knock down. We need to figure out a way of playing that gets Ndiaye, Berge, Bogle and Norwood on the ball in dangerous areas and it’s been obvious for ages. Same when Brewster played - he barely ever got passed to.
