What the fuck were the stewards on the kop thinking tonight? I was asked to show my season ticket FOUR times as I descended towards my seat. After the third time I asked why and didn't get an answer. So I said fuck off no and continued towards my seat. Same again after the fourth time. A friend said later it was to satisfy Sheffield City Council who might threaten to close the kop. Seems this is all about fans not sitting in their allocated seats.

Isn't this all a fuss about nothing, health and safety gone mad? We, the fans, should tell SUFC and Sheffield City Council to just fuck off and focus on more important issues.

No, it’s about dicks not sitting in their seat, so if they’re checking it’s just to sort the twats who have closed 500-1000 seats in the Kop for being pricks, so just keep your ticket out and show it if asked, easy.
Four times? No way. I've been going to the Lane now 60 years. I'm not starting to be treated as a 'suspect' now. You behave as a prick if you want to. I refuse.

Got to my seats (2) and there was a fella and lass in them, i asked them to move politely, i asked them what seat numbers and row they were supposed to be on,lass looked at two season cards and said row J i said this is row JJ,off they went.Quite obviously using someone else's season cards (which i dont mind) and ended up in the wrong seats.

Good to see the extra stewards marching up and down the gangways, not one of them asked me to show my season card,i felt left out.

If only there was a thread where this had been discussed since October last year.

Thread 'email from club - NO MORE TICKETS ON SALE IN KOP - standing & wrong seat usage' https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads...-sale-in-kop-standing-wrong-seat-usage.92794/

You’re shooting the messengers if you’re having a go at the stewards and you’re making it harder for them to do their job.

For you, you might have been asked 4x. For them, they ought have checked 2,000 people. It’s normal there will be some duplication and impossible for them to remember all those they checked.

They are doing it to try to get the closed seats reopened.

If you’re kicking up a fuss to check your ticket or refusing to show it, then, even if you always sit in your seat, then you’re part of the problem.

Why? Because you are making it unpleasant for low paid people to do their job properly. It will make it harder for them to identify those who are sitting in the wrong area and send the to the right one.

Frustrating as it may have been, we’ve all got to support them and understand why this is happening. We need to be able to identify anyone sitting in the wrong seats and to do that some who sit in the right seats will get questioned.

Just play along pleas mate. The Council need no invitation to be arseholes towards Sheffield United. Remember right back to Brearley wanting to develop Bramall Lane and then refusing him. Let’s not give them an excuse.

I spose voting the counts out of office and replacing them with another set of counts wouldn't help either.

As far as the stewards are concerned having to re show your ticket every time you went for a piss or a pie was a bit much but the most glaringly obvious job they needed to do (stop fans gathering on gang ways) was tackled.

I’m sorry your day was so hideous.
It must be so difficult for you to help solve a problem at the club by having to show someone a little plastic card that weighs about 5 grams 4 (four, not forty four or four hundred - just four) times.
You could have chosen to make light of it, but didn’t.
You could have chosen to just write-off the 60 seconds (a guess) it robbed you of.
But no. Grumble, grumble, grumble.
Are you the problem the club are trying to resolve? No.
As a kop-dweller, are you part of the solution? Yes.
As Champagneblade says, play along for a little while & actually help the club solve the problem. It really isn’t a lot to ask.

Your attitude is why we are in the position we are!
Do you want the kop closing!?.stewards have every right to ask for ID.
Just enjoy the game and let others do there jobs.

Yeah, stop fussing and show your fucking season ticket you pleb.

Do you think the stewards want to keep asking people time and time again when they get awkward arseholes like you? Just do what's needed so the club can get back to selling tickets on the Kop.

Not at all a ST holder in the row in front of me had to ask one of the stewards to move a guy who was sat in his seat. Not sure if it was just a genuine mistake but the bloke showed the steward his ST card and some bloke was sat in his seat don't know where he went but he wasn't thrown out by the stewards. There really is no excuse for not being in your allotted seat. This wasn't in the top corner either.

Init man stop moaning you little baby. We need to get the kop open asap, imagine a big cup night against the spurs, or maybe a one off Easter Friday game against Wigan at home where a win would see us back in the big time….but our kop is sparsely open? Embarrassing isn’t it?

I can empathize with Sneinton Blade 1952. My tolerance levels are also tested on a regular basis. However it is just good manners to treat poorly paid stewards with common courtesy.
As ChipButtyBlade pointed out, simple misunderstandings are easily sorted.
Stewards briefing could be simplified though. Confirm tickets of seated customers only where a disagreement exists.
After kick off, request tickets from anyone occupying the gangway, or the walkway behind the top row of seats. These are the only time stewards need to help out or intervene, unless there is a medical, or other emergency.

If you are occupying a gangway or standing outside the seating area, like it or not, you are part of the problem. (I understand that there is plenty of spare room at S6 for these activities).

Disappointing to see about 10 youths dive into the bog traps on the south side of the kop at 2.45 to do their sniff. I must be getting old I just see the need for it. Maybe the copper with the cocker spaniel should be going around just before kick off rather than 2.00pm when not many are in the ground.

I heard numerous people moaning at stewards because they where asked to see their season tickets, why do they moan, you go to any arena to see a live band anywhere in the country and you will be asked to show your ticket numerous times on entry and leaving your area and not once have I heard people moan about it at these kind of events but football stadiums, moan, moan moan.
Another thought , could it be something to do with the so called , “ Take over”. EFL looking into SUFC and seeing we have a problem with a part of the ground which needs resolving quickly?
It really is annoying hearing people whinge about something that’s so simple to do.

Not sure if the 4th person knew you’d been asked previously…people have a right not to suffer abuse at work mate, be nice to people.

The Stewards 95% of whom looked like students and half scared to death shouldn’t be scapegoated by older people unable to look at the bigger picture. The Stewards are doing what they’ve been asked to do. I was asked two or three times and on each occasion it was done politely

Reality Is, we need to support the club in its dealings with whoever it is who’s instructing the club to introduce these measures. Empty seats on the Kop look terrible when matches are televised as well as a financial loss to the club. Hope having to show your card didn’t distress you too much and you were able to sleep last night.

Well you are now indicating of being a prick meaning if you do refuse you contribute to the problem these pricks have caused and as a result made stewards hound you

Not been on the kop for ages but are the numbers on all the seats visible or do you sometimes have to find one that is visible and then count along from there?

3-0 up, 10 minutes to go, second in the league and flying and the Kops like a morgue. Why? Because some teenagers are wanting to sit or stand together. Not taking anyone else's seats, not causing any problems, no injuries, no fighting, no crushes on the way out. People need to see the bigger picture here. Fuck the council and fuck SAG. Is a Sanitised football experience what people really want? It's not for me at any rate. Show the evidence that it's causing a problem. No one will because there isn't any. It happens at every away game and every home game across the country. We're being victimised and the conforming masses fall in line and lap it up. Its bollocks.

So you’re going to tell SAG that you won’t accept the closure of the kop (probably in a shouty voice) because it’s bollocks and that’s going to work? Wow, that’s impressive. Wonder why nobody thought of that before. Go for it!

What's the bigger picture? And what's so hard about sitting in the seat you've bought a ticket for? Being stubborn in some pathetic show of not conforming is what's causing the problem for everyone else. Well done.

You think the kop will be closed? Explain (probably in a meek voice) how they'll do that. Where will ST holders go? Try engaging in conversation like an adult instead of responding like a child.

How is it causing a problem for you personally?

Clearly visible

"Clearly visible" on the seat
but I can't remember seeing any signage on the steps giving the number.

My season ticket is in the Kop but when ever I take guests with me and change to the BLUT stand.
Everytime in order to find my seats I've had to find an empty seat first, in order to see the number to get my bearings.
Also the numbers on the seat are quite small, several times someone has been sat in my seat and needed to move down one place.

If SAG and the council decide to remove the license for the kop, it will close. From that point it becomes the club’s problem what happens to the season ticket holders. Good luck to them with that.

The vast majority of us will be hugely pissed off with SAG and the council but will accept that they have the power to do it. We will be even more pissed off at the small number of selfish, entitled twats who think they should be able to do whatever they want with no comeback.
