If he's out of contract end of this season, why haven't we released him? Are we contractually obliged to keep him on? Is it an insurance thing? Is the insurance company paying his wages as long as we do (we pay him then they pay us kind of thing) meaning we don't have to pay him off?

I'm resigned to the fact he won't play for us again. Big shame because what a player. He scored the second goal against Ipswich that got us up so for that I'll remember him. He was destined for bigger things and I wouldn't have bet against regular England call ups.

Such a shame it ended how it did - on the training pitch.

He always seems in good spirits SUTV when he does games and the fact he's still showing his face like he is is a good thing, too.

I'd like to think we could offer him a deal that suits both parties. Small wage loaded with bonuses. Just a thought mind.

I had a total knee replacement and I was back on the grass within 2 years ,yes I'm 61 and not a pro but I'm back playing 6 aside .if your not back in 3 years it's over rover

So in your opinion JOC is done? But can you answer my point thet the crazy injury list is more on management than the players!

I think it's just modern training techniques where payers are trained like race horses and ultimately they break down ,all clubs will be the same

Not being funny but if the techniques are the reason the muppets running them need to change the techniques or get sacked for some who will.
What I would say training is like tactics when someone on the eufa says something is the right way to do things ,then most A licenced coaches do it that way ,you've seen it with the nonsense of balls out from the keeper, usually ending in a fuck up .

He'd probably be playing for someone like Liverpool now and us about 40m+ better off!
Without his injury I do not think we would have been relegated in our second PL season and would have stayed for a third season. There is also every chance we could then have had enough income to buy the players we needed to build a team that could still be there. Yes we might have sold him but we’d be more than 40 mill better off. We’ll never know!

Why don't you just support Wednesday? You hate our manager and consistently and loudly slag him off. 'He's injuring the players'. 'the performances aren't good enough ' etc etc.

Posting the same bollocks in thread after thread. You're not a Blade.

You'd love us to not go up.

Sounds like he hasn't given up and offering to pay off someone who hasn't given up makes no sense. We don't save money and he loses something that he obviously is working towards still. How realistic his hopes are only he and the doctors know.

I'd love to see him return but it would be extraordinary.

on the pre game show on Saturday he said he was close to getting on the grass
I just don’t think he’ll play for us again. I can’t see him getting a new deal as he’s not played for 3 years or playing any part in the run in.

We would have to sign him on a pay as you play deal, I’m not sure that’s even a thing nowadays though?

I remember James Wallace after his long term injury

I do hope Jack reads this board and uses it as motivation to come back stronger than ever!
If he listened to some on here he'd be off to the knackers yard, despite the fact that those same people (I'm guessing) are not surgeons / consultants with access to Jack's medical records, scans, results or his actual body!
Let's just see what happens, eh?
He would seem to be working incredibly hard to give himself the best chance possible.
Fingers and toes crossed for the lad.

well TIME out of the game is recoverable
Ched Evans lost 3 years through false imprisonment but is now back winning a contract at Preston
if he does get fit he has the mind set to get up to speed, think hed play with a prosthetic leg with his determination
Be a real Roy of the Rovers story when he returns

I'm not lowering myself to argue with you Mr happy Clappy see no evil, hear no evil speak no evil.
In case you hadn't noticed, which you probably haven't there are plenty of posters share the view our injury situation is ridiculous, our performances (not results) are not very convincing for large chunks of most games and our substitutions and general in game management is reactive and generally late not proactive.
Regarding being a Blade I doubt you've been going to The Lane as long as I have. Finally this is a football forum where people express their OPINIONS. You aren't obliged to agree or even read mine, I tend to ignore yours . You might be better off doing the same as it clearly upsets you that someone dare to express a view that challenges the "party line".

I agree on his determination, but how do we gamble on a new deal when he's not played in 3 years? There's 4 months of the season left & if he's back on the grass by February that gives him two months to get fit (realistically) & the season ends at the start of May.

I would be deliriously happy if he can manage to come on for 30 minutes in a game this season and. come off after the final whistle...I dont think he could. play any major part this season but that's not the goal . That he finally plays. is the aim and start from scratch in August

let's not forget we. are without him and have the best defensive record in the championship so can cope

No doubt in my mind that if we maintain this gap we've got now and we're promoted before the end of the season he'll be named on the bench for the last home match and come on for the last 5 minutes.

Followed by an announcement of his immediate retirement after the match 🥺

If he can prove any sort of fitness by the end of the season, I'm sure the club would offer him some sort of rolling contract, or based on appearances, on a lower wage.

If any other club offered him a permanent contract though, even in the lower leagues, he'd be daft not to take it knowing the knee might give up again any day.

You do moan a bit, though.

I want us to be better. So should the management. We have (when fit) a very talented and strong team, possibly the best in the league. Wanting them to fulfill their potential isn't moaning, it's looking to improve which is pretty much the whole point of looking to climb back to the top flight.

he hates Hecky and made his mind up he's. rubbish . If we win the championship title and fa cup double he'd still want Sean Dyche in for the prem. He's entitled to that opinion and its just as justifiable as Begums decision that life with ISIS in a desert camp is better than being in the UK
