Players or Managers that look back and regret joining us

I never got that impression. Is he quoted as saying that? I never saw anything other than big effort from him.

Opposition defences hated him. Love that in one of our players.

He essentially branded most of the fandbase as racists, which is why I can't stand the c**t. Decent player though.

Ricky Holmes and Luke Freeman most recent. Maybe Billy second time around but that worked out in the end.

Atkins definitely as manager but he's shite anyway
I imagine Ricky Holmes had a lovely pay increase, so probably didn't care, but from a footballing perspective sure. Never given a chance (and neither was Luke, despite actually being one of our better players in the first 2/3 games that season).

It rained? I have no memory of that. My memory is of sunshine.
Sure it did , me and my mate were chatting up 2 the lasses serving drinks at the refreshments as we were that bad ... remember after up at Kings Cross it was bedlam on Caledonian Rd as Leeds & Wigan rugb6 fans were drinking up there as they were in RL Cup final

Neither did I, given he was at fault for 2 of the 3 goals he conceded in his only game.

I did enjoy his penalty save having said that.
He found out the night before he was joining us on an emergency loan and was at home in London first time he met the squad was when they were in the whities getting changed for the game

Blake bubble burst! ☹️

The racist thing is obviously bollox. I know there's no way of measuring it but as far as racism goes I'd imagine we are way way down the list.

It was so disappointing to see him lay into us like that and lost any respect I had for him.

Wasn't it that we chanted "You fat bastard!" at him and he thought it was "You black bastard"?

I seem to remember an absolute cloudburst right before kick-off. It only lasted a few minutes and we were still outside the ground trying to get in along with several other late arrivals (I'm sure this coincided with a story I heard a Blade relating on the Danny Baker Show once of a coachload of Unitedites first being taken to Plough Lane, then Crystal Palace Athletics Stadium, then finally Selhurst Park); by the time we were in our seats the match was kicking off in glorious sunshine again.

Perhaps it rained before the start. Long time ago.

No, it was a bunch of twats acting like twats.
I think the comic-element was the commentary over the PA which culminated in, "Oh thank-you, Sheffield United, thank-you very much!"

You're right though, they were twats - I seriously considered writing to the club to apologise on behalf of all Sheffield United fans but in the end, I wasn't sure whether I should be writing to Wimbledon or Crystal Palace.

Yes, I remember that.

People who do stuff like that are arseholes. See also the “famous” pitch invasion at Brighton in 1985. Twats.

Ben Woodburn. Robin Olson. Pretty sure I saw something the other year about Scott Hogan saying he didn't particularly like the loan spell he had with us.

Interesting to compare the trajectory of two recent players at the Lane. Mousett and McBurnie both arrived with similar potential as strikers/goalscorers.
After similar decent starts, both seemed to be a lost cause.
Both will have had the benefit of advice regarding their on and off field performances.
Maybe the change in management had a lesser effect on Mousett than it did on McBurnie.
On the whole, I don’t think Mousett enjoyed his time at Bramall Lane?

He enjoyed the local catering....
