Post-Rotherham Bed Wetting Thread

Injuries have caught up with us. They really looked tired tonight. Likes of Egan and Norwood having no rest looked shot. We've lacked the ability to rest players and it has caught up with us. Rotherham looked stronger and fitter. Also quicker. Wanted it more and won all the second balls. Could have got a draw out of it, but we probably were due one to go against us.

I don't think we're a top two team. I didn't think so at the start of the season. All fit we could be pushing for autos but that's so far away at the moment.

What really pisses me off is having to come on here and see the trolls who appear after every game we don't win and then suggest we need a new manager. I wish they'd just fuck off an support Man City because that's the only team which is likely to make them happy by winning almost every game.
Mate I don’t expect to win every game … far from it… what I do expect is a team of well paid professionals to turn up every game and do the basics really well.

Honestly, everytime we have these sort of teams at home, the message should be don’t let them outwork you. If we match the endeavour then quality should shine through. We didn’t work anywhere near hard enough tonight.
100% spot on mate… yet we prance about like we have a Devine right to all the time and some in the world

We were shite tonight.

Didn't look up for it at all, and that's the most disappointing thing.

I accept that a few are very tired though, and as happens all too often the changes came far too late.

Oh well, we just need to put it right on Saturday.

Football fans are a fickle bunch. I didn't think we were that great against Burnley, 3 of our goals came from scrappy second balls after they decided they weren't going to defend any aerial balls into their box, for McBurnie's second Baldock was offside. But still, a good win, rightly celebrated. Tonight, Rotherham defended quite well, their keeper barely had a save to make. Not massive amounts between the two performances. So probably best not to get too carried away when we win, don't get too down when we lose.

Rotherham had as many inuries as us and had just played back to back games against Burnley and Norwich. I think the injuries and tiredness due to having to play unfit players has been a genuine excuse for us losing points in the past but not tonight There is no excuse for Rotherham outworking us and us once again having no clue how to break down a side who were limited but organised

Not quite bed-wetting but I thought Hecky got it totally wrong tonight. He didn't put a fresh face in to the team. He had no fucking clue what he was doing with subs and god knows what formation we ended up playing by the end.

Simple changes.

Rest fleck, bring him on later if needed.

Don't start McDiaye. Start Sharp and Reda then bring the McDiaye duo on if required.

Either that or most of the bench we have are not actually fit and are just keeping it warm.

Not sure how they were lucky. They had a penalty shout just before half time that was definitely in the 'seen them given' basket.

They had a ball across the face of our goal which, with a slightly better touch would have been a goal.

What did we do? Don't remember their keeper making a save that a school kid wouldn't.

Egan a shocking effort when all the time in the world and that was about it.

Far too many players off their game and absolutely no urgency from the first minute.

Even irritating basics; why when we play the ball across defence to build the attack do we do often pass to where they are standing or even behind them? Surely you pass in front of them so they can take the ball in their stride with momentum. Don't know why it does but it annoys me.

Rotherham deserved their win - they scored a good goal, could have had a pen and had a few other decent moments. We were the big team/near the top and did sod all. We had one egan shot and a weak McBurnie header.

Rotherham fought hard, won the battles and overall showed more desire. Too many turned up tonight thinking it would be easy (including the fans who were awful) and a sold out Bramall Lane saw the side serve up a nothing performance. Credit to Rotherham but a good sides rolls them over. Only when Khadra came on did we actually get behind them. We had no idea how to create anything at all.

Funnily, any suggestion or resting players was criticised before the game.

Who are you starting over Fleck?

Why wouldn't we rest players considering we can't seem to keep anyone fit.

I get what you're saying, but I thought they looked mentally tired as well. Players like Egan and Norwood.

Spot on

We have a squad with millions of pounds of players and a lot more depth. They have had players that have been flogged a lot more than us in the last period. They showed more desire than hunger. Watching Wiles and Rathbone run around and throw their bodies in the way and McAtee and Osborn just jog around was the telling sign for me.

Mentally tired?

That's poor if so. Rotherham's players played as many games as us and have a much smaller squad. If they cannot be get themselves up to beat an ordinary side like Rotherham we aint going up - thats the reality.

Bang on and your last paragraph irritates me too mate, we may as well play the ball backwards at times, we take the emphasis of a lot of attacks right out of it. The coaching needs to improve ffs because for me this group of players are a lot better than they are currently showing.

It's an easy go to saying "they wanted it more" but I have no idea how anyone can argue any different tonight. We upped the intensity a bit in the second half but the first was unacceptable. Players just going through the motions expecting it to all come good.

Agreed, worth noting that they didn’t just outfight us either, they easily outplayed us. Concerning that we didn’t even try to play around them or through them, we just panicked and launched the ball up to McBurnie & Ndiaye.

Counted several occasions second half where Robinson just aimlessly lumped it forwards rather than give it to Stevens on the touchline and trust he could use it. It seemed like we knew with Osborn, Robinson, Bash in midfield etc that we weren’t comfortable enough to play around them so just resorted to lumping it instead.

Felt for Norwood big time, play the midfield on his own tonight. Stupid booking from him though which means we now don’t have a midfield for Saturday.

It's not going as well as Bianca hoped is it?

Its really starting to grate on me how we need something to kick off before we up the intensity. Unless something has happened to get our backs up you can completely forget it.

As with Norwich, our only chance of getting back in that game was if Rotherham started fucking about and time wasting to the point where it riled us up enough to actually give a toss. We couldnt even be arsed with that tonight.

Rotherham showed a desire to win that game tonight, we decided we didnt fancy it….rinse and repeat.

Agree we wait till we go behind or something happens or a bad decision. Outside of Blackpool we have now trailed in 4 of last 5 home games and just seem half asleep to start games. The intensity tonight was terrible. You have to run around and get your foot in and then you will see more of the ball. Too many just did not look arsed tonight including Ndiaye sadly.

Should have subbed McBurmie. He was a shadow. Looks like his injuries/fatigue catching up with him.
Thought he looked ‘the most likely’ to do something - which is admittedly clutching at straws.

My bed wetting contribution (and probable overreaction)…

Apart from the second half against Burnley (ok maybe the whole game), we’ve looked really quite average (at best) since the international break.

We miss Berge a lot. We miss Doyle. Think RND is a huge loss too. There’s no depth up front.

Anyway, tonight was garbage, hopefully get a result at Cardiff and get the players rested!

Just walked in. I'd better put the hoover on to clear up all the sand that's dropping from vaginas all over this forum tonight.

We looked leggy tonight, out of ideas and cumbersome. However, Rovrum did a job on us, they pressed hard, closed down passing options quickly, allowed Norwood the ball, but tracked every run we made, so his passing was nullified. I thought Rovrum were excellent tonight and deserved the three points.

I won't be wetting the bed though, because it's one result. Let's see what Saturday brings.

Transl: Don't dare criticise a poor performance and a home defeat.

Here. Grab these pom-poms and get fucking dancing, just like me.

pommpey
Bang on mate. Merge what threads? The ones who dare say how fucking terrible to watch that was? Absolutely shite but we won against Burnley. 🤷‍♂️

No way you watched both games

Nailed it. You would think they would learn from past games but nope. Kinda worrying. Just hope they'll figure it out.
