We did on Saturday, and people moaned we didn't play a loanee out of position. It's a no-win game sometimes.

I do feel sorry for both full backs yesterday though as they were the only outlets and therefore were getting 60 yard passes sent to them, had to control them and then by the time they have they were being pressed and had to go back or inside. The 60 yard balls are ok if they're running onto it, but not when it's just aimed at them. It slows play down a lot when it happens.

The empty threat of the Norwood ping - 21 players stand back to admire it + once it arrives at its destination , the oppo defence has had time to re-set

Baldock can cross a ball and when he does the delivery is generally good. The issue is that he doesn't and chooses to pass backwards when he has a chance to put in an early ball. He is the most frustrating player to watch as he undoes all of his own hard work in the final third.

I was there when Baldock played for MK Dons during our promotion season.
My partner who knows very little about football commented “their number 2 is a good player”.
Even she noticed Baldock was their stand out player.
We bought him not king after that match…..we were all excited based on that attacking full back performance.
However the MK Dons fans commented “great going forward but gets caught out of position and not great at defending:

He’s been a real success at United. Great buy.
Combative hardworker who seems to genuinely care, very attack minded with a great engine, perfect for the wing back role.
He’s a very good player but the thing that stops him being good PL level player is his crossing.

He regularly gets into great positions to put in a cross but it often doesn’t beat the first man, the trajectory is often low.
best we seem to get is it’s blocked and goes out for a corner.
Looking forward to seeing his right wing battle with Bogle this season, both are big assets at Championship level.

Exactly right. That last minute chance wasted to pass the ball across for a tap in was criminal to hit the defender.

Norwood was on 100% McBurnie duty. Holding him back and then tracking him to keep him out of bother. We’ve all got that mate that we have to keep an eye on when there’s an opportunity for it to go off
