steve stone at forest/england did his patella and had to retire

my knee was totally knackered snapping mine in the dads race on my kids sports day, not helped by Leicester Royal taking 2 months to diagnose the fact that id snapped it.

happy days
Sounds like you visited the same specialist as JOC.

After 8 weeks of physio, i still couldnt put any weight on the leg or even raise it, eventually someone listened to me that there was a fking problem,
and after a scan got me seen to. All in all a rare but brutal injury, be amazed if JOC recovers to play any level of footie again

Bloody hell. I had patella tendinitis from playing too much football (and being increasingly middle aged). When I engaged the muscles to run it was like having my leg in a vice.

Snapping it? Oof.

0.05m ;)

If he was 0.5m smaller than Egan he'd be 1.3m or 4 ft 5in :D He'd be a terrible choice at CB...
Still, 5ft 10in (5 11" if we're being generous and rounding up) is too small for a CB in my book.

Some good examples being chucked about, mainly including generational talents, which are perhaps the exceptions to the rules. Also different eras where it might have been possible to get away with it more.

I stand by my assertion. I don't think 5ft 10" is tall enough for a modern centre half. I suspect the majority of the data on successful modern centre halves would back this up.

Lisandro Martinez will be lining up for one of the favourites for the World Cup at 5' 7".
