Norwood

The biggest compliment I can pay to Norwood, is that whenever he plays well, United generally play well.

What makes him stand out for me is his awareness, it’s almost like when he gets the ball he knows where everyone else is on the pitch. If there is a 50 yard pass on he‘ll try and play if, if there is nothing doing then he’ll play a simple pass and move on until he gets the ball again

I heard the interview, but it didn't convince me it was the right decision.

Firstly, the keeper wasn't far off his line, and would've made a fairly routine save, maybe he often strays far from the line; yesterday he did not.

Secondly, if you're going to try something that ambitious, you at least need to get it on target.

I love Norwood, and I agree with your assessment that he's a skilful, intelligent player. However, I thought the attempt was a very cheap way of giving up possession.

It has other effects too, in terms of making the keeper think twice about straying from his area. It happened to me once when I was playing in goal - the other team shot straight from the kick-off (and missed). However, it played on my mind and I always have a feeling they'd try it again, so ended up rooted in my area, and they scored a couple from through balls that I probably ought to have been out collecting.

It would be helpful if he didn’t pass back or sideways so much.

The laziest most error strewn display from him , utter rubbish
Agree. He was the one talking tripe about teams fearing us because we are top of the league. We are not Man City FFS. This is the championship. I am fed up over the years of watching us fail to consolidate good positions. Off the back of three away wins we produce this shite. Meanwhile we have a highly rated Man City youngster warming the bench. Once again snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Don't think Norwood was an issue today. Unlucky not to score and had them scrambling to deal with many of his crosses.

Berge on the other hand... Used to be when Norwood plays badly we play badly

now, when Berge disappears we disappear.

Can't believe he's getting stick. One of the few that actually tried to contribute to the game. Him, Khadra and Norrington Davies only ones who offered something positive.

Berge needs to be taken out of the 11. Talking himself to the press and did absolutely nothing tonight.

To those bashing Norwood, who are you looking to suddenly grab hold of the ball and drive us forward?

He's pivotal to how we play and in games he gets withdrawn we completely lose our shape. He was perfectly fine today. Had a very good effort at goal and put a handful of good balls in. His corners were decent too. It's a shame Egan used his goals for Ireland because 8 yards out and a free header he needs to shake himself not getting it on target.

Agree Doyle played ok, but the reason for keeping Berge on should be obvious. He's a goal threat. None of those that would be proposed to replace him, are.

As for McAtee he's still finding his way in the men's game. Anyone seeing him at Luton will understand why Heckingbottom wants to drip feed him into the team.

It wasn't a great performance tonight but it certainly wasn't a bad one. Let's not get too down when we lose or too high when we win - we were the better team first half and dominated play. It just didn't fall for the right players. They scored with a misjudgment from Wes, one of our most reliable players. We then continued to press, gave away very few chances and it just didnt come off. That's football.

We dust ourselves down, have a proper period to get some training done and then we go and paste Stoke. That's how it has to be.

Norwood's contribution tonight consisted of lazy misplaced passes and lazy (leaning back as always) shots miles off target apart from one which would probably have hit post but goalie saved it.
Berge was even worse - literally not involved at all in first half.
But both stay on.
Berge did wake up s little in second half.

Norwood wasn’t great tonight a five out of ten .. but that made him our best player on the night .

Berge and Bash it would generous to give them a twob

Norwood

Lazy - misplace passes - and lazy again

S t f u idiot

I thought Norwood had a decent game apart from a couple of misplaced long range passes..Kept things ticking over, always available, despite being closed down and denied space, never hides..once or twice he produced first time passes under pressure and found an out ball to turn us around, got blocks in.. we'd be way worse without him as we haven't got anyone who can play that role.. Not everything came off, but played ok tonight for me,and has been good all season.

I was right behind that shot, it was 100% going in.

Okay then watch as we slip away from the automatic promotion race.
Well if we do it’s not Norwood doing you idiot

Brewster - nothing
IN - no impact tonight
Berge - well , what can you say other than the dear lives tired

Fkin grow up

I am not the one using swear words and insults. Think it is you that needs to grow up. Either you are right or I am right and we will know after 46 games or so and an analysis of the season.
