Sander berge

He is our leading goal scorer at the mo.
It would be typical of the blades, going into the last two games of the season.
1 point needed for automatic promotion, Berge playing out of his skin and Villa offer 2packets of shredded wheat, a packet of skittles, smarties and some jelly babies and we sell, and miss out.

Nurseeee they let me have my phone again

There is an argument that we could come out with a better balance from a sale. Maybe five permanent incomings with four or five being elite midfielders at this level.

With respect mate, no chance.

We won't have the funds (regardless of his sale, we won't receive it all up front and it won't all be made available), nor the pull (whilst in the Championship) to bring several top end players in. 1 or 2 'good' players, possibly - but on balance I'm not sure that is a better outcome than keeping Berge.

He stays. Let's revaluate situation at January if/when Berge has had good 1st half of the season.

Unpopular opinion but if we get more than our money back I'll be grateful. Only need to cast our minds back to Derby away a few months ago and he was looking like money down the drain due to injuries, poor form and we were unsure where to play him. I appreciate the landscape has changed a bit but I still feel if the team plays well, Sander plays well, if the team plays poorly, he plays poorly or goes missing.

When he's on form he's a real joy to watch but if we keep him another year, he'll only have 12 months left on his contract and will got for a cut price next summer. Because we've made such bad investments elsewhere like McBurnie, Mousset etc. we've got to recoup some of the assets we spent a lot of money on.

I just wish we'd seen more of the current Sander through his 2.5 years we've had him.
Did you take into account his potentially career changing injury when making your 'wish' ( ie hamstring torn off the thigh bone) also the price we paid for him is nothing to do with him

I don't disagree. We can bring players in on the same terms though (not all of the fee up front).

I also think he's going.

My concern is not if he goes, but who can we, or will we, be able to replace him?
Same, this is also my concern. We’ll be on the hunt & potentially looking to sign someone else’s best player in the next two weeks will be pretty impossible.

Let him go in January if needs be, but 2 weeks before the window closes isn’t ideal if we’re serious about promotion.

There’s too many teams in for him now to make me think he stays. His agent is clearly touting him around too

Got a bad feeling he's gonna be gone before end of window
Apparently ac milan are keeping an eye on him if they get overpriced for their next target
Too good for this league, but has kept his head down and remained a great professional, anything over 20m he would go with my blessing, £19.999999 and he can go fuck himself

I like sander, but he’s too inconsistent. Great for one half of a game but crap for another half ! And deep down I don’t think he’s fussed about playing for us anymore! He’s just trying to be professional and get on with it!

What wish?

I really like the guy and wish him the best for the future

I don't think that anyone rumoured to be interested will meet the release clause, even AC Milan.

Sander is good, but would still be a gamble for a team at the top level.

It took him a while to settle here, so no guarantee he would do as well at another club and with a big price tag involved, they are unlikely to be patient.

That being said, the pace of Italian football is less intense.

I don't think he's crap half a game, I think he's trying to cover for Fleck and Norwood who are blowing in the second half.

The club know we'll not get the release figure, anything north of 20 million and he's gone

Yeah fortunately we've got a wealth of midfielders better and more consistent than him haven't we

As I said I thinks he’s great some of the time, but some of the time he goes missing! Just like all our midfielders !

There’s nowt wrong with that, he’s currently one of our most in-form players. I would like us to keep hold of him but worry that we’ll see him leave for very little once his contract comes to renewal. How long does he have left btw..?

2 years from the start of this season. He signed a 4.5 year deal in January 2020.

All we need is at least 2 rich clubs in for him to get the minimum release clause amount. As soon as one gets paranoid, the other one will jump in with a better offer. Brighton and West Ham is perfect really, as well as AC Milan.

Brighton's transfer record is £17m. Can't see them smashing that for Berge when they would believe they can find another Moises Caceido for less than £5m.

They’ll sell him , Always have and Always Will Sell their best players, ever since Birchenall and Jones when I first started going to Currie and Deane and Now Berge . That’s why I don’t go anymore we will never ever ever win anything and it’s took me 55 years to realise it . See Ya

thought it was more than that for Brighton tbf. A panicked Newcastle at the end of the window would be perfect to be honest, their fans don't seem to happy with their business and they're looking at players in the 35m range

Jesus 🤣
I mean I agree we're never going to win anything, like 95% of clubs out there. If that's what it's all about, what's the point of any of us going eh?
Lighten up pal.

every team sells their players, otherwise what is the point in owning a football club? it isn't just for fun i can tell you that!

If Newcastle's fans aren't currently happy with their signings they would be apoplectic at buying Sander Berge for £30m.

The reported fee for Maupay was £20m; same as what we paid for McBurnie

No recent evidence to support your negativity and the chances of seeing me are remote as I go to matches.

See ya, ya great hairy ball bag

As long as Leeds don,t get Berge. any other Premier League club no problem, oops would not want Florest to get him either.
