Thoughts on the kit?

This kit issue seems a little bit odd, when your unveiling new signings in training gear, when they should be in the shirt, just doesnt seem right?
Any idea what the issue is anyone??
Apart from the usual jokey stuff obviously......

Aren’t they planning on doing a full United World reveal or something of that nature? Though it is difficult if you are playing games already as Beerschot has in their electric white away beaut.

No black pin stripe……. Not really seen what the fans want then….I’m out
This is the issue for a supplier though I find:

You have your favourite meal, be that spag bol, chicken chow mein, chicken tikka, whatever your poison.

But part of what makes it special is that you don’t have it every day.

If they gave you what you wanted for your ideal kit, then the kit would be the same each season.

So maybe one season you go without a pinstripe, one season they do a funky one which becomes a classic over time but was met with indifference at the time like the diamond one. Then they give you your pinstripes and the cycle continues.

I think they need to strike a balance between giving what fans think they want, being original and not repetitive but also not just going retro because you can buy retro shirts now anyway.

So if you are a kit manufacturer then you are a bit damned when you do and damned when you don’t.

From what I’ve seen so far their stuff looks pretty tasteful. Hopefully the quality is there too.

I thought that, the UW reveal, but was shot down by a few on here when I said it!?
And then Bearshit revealed thier kits and nothing came of it.
Wouldve expected a taster or tease of it by now, especially as weve actually signed a player?

🤣🤣🤣

I think it’s a combination of us not getting our choice sorted quickly and the fact errea are not as efficient as the bigger brands. I was told one of the keeper shirts was going to be our 3rd kit but they didn’t have enough produced so made the compromise.

Just a lower league absolute nothing club until the local conglomerate bought them and bank rolled them with insane money to at they didn’t really have.

Good read about it here

Do you not think that maybe we are being teased with tasters of the training kits (Us, Beerschot and Chateauroux) , travel kits, Beerschot's 2nd and 3rd kits etc . . . . all leading to a simultaneous launch of the home kits. Someone on a previous post used the term 'soft launch'.

If you look at the photos released by SUFC I think they are very carefully choreographed, with each player wearing various designs and clothing across the range.

In fairness, it's not a story unique to Parma. Juventus have been run by the owners of Fiat/Ferrari for nearly all their existence, it's just that Juve were far more successful.
If you're going to be owned by a major company then it's better to have a company with local roots, although hopefully not as bent as Parmalat.

Anyone notice this in the Tommy Doyle release video, does this look like a training shirt or kit?

I often see people say "how hard is it to get a 'Sheffield United kit right'?

There are so many variables (collar, stripe width, pinstripes, socks colour, shorts colour, badge - classic, shield, or late 80s version plus placement).

Then throw in that each kit has to be significantly different to the last to make the purchase worthwhile, some people want cutting edge designs, some want it to have barely changed since the 1950s. Some want retro throwback kits and some say its already been done.

You'll never reach consenus amongst 30,000 odd people, and even if you managed to come up with the perfect computer algorithm to please nearly everybody then you can guarntee somebody will turn around and say 'looks a bit Sunderland to me'.

I don't care for shirts changing every season but at least it means if you don't like the current one another will be along in 12 months.

No I dont, I think the training kit is ready and the shirt wasnt. I suppose we will see when we play in a few days, but to launch a signing in a training kit, just doesnt seem right.

You are giving our marketing team far too much credit there.....

I quite like that shirt, surprised how much so, as a 3rd kit I wouldnt mind it all - minus all the little sponsors dotted around it.

If the rumours about a black and gold 3rd kit are correct I could see it being that design just with black instead of green.

I reckon it would look pretty good TBH.

Id guess its about stock in the store before the official launch. Imagine the meltdown on here...here's the new kits, you can buy one in 3 weeks!

Or we have to literally buy it in bits. Socks this month, shorts next month and the shirt the month after.

Maybe Wes will make an Aidan Davison-esque appearance at the start of the season with bandages covering the Adidas logos

Just been to Bramall Lane shop today and they was two white vans outside with the shirts inside in boxes so let’s hope they get released tomorrow or Thursday
