Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday polo match at Longley Park 1951. Can recognise Dooley and maybe Swan at the front but no Blades players.

Looking at photo, left of Do*l^! shaking hands, believe Walter Ricketts, ex-Blade but defected. Right of D)( le&, shaking hands believe Geoff/Jeff Denial, back, Fred Furness & Harry Latham. Two far right no idea, there were several players in that squad that weren't regular first teamers and I were only nine at the time and not a regular on match days.

Think they have all been named but it’s Alan Brown, Ron Capewell, Walt Ricketts, Derek Dooley, Eric Pratt , Fred Furniss, Harry Latham, Len Hopkinson, Bill Eason on the pic.

Not heard of Eason, Hopkinson and Pratt. Must have been reserve players

Wondering if this is on the same site as the present Old Crown Inn, registered as 137 London Rd., with construction of new properties in the intervening years, increasing the street number from 101 to 137.
Looks likely, the map below published in 1890 shows the Old Crown Inn in the same place as it is now, so looks like it was rebuilt on the same site? Although it could have just fallen down looking at the picture! Architecture of the new building fits around that time too.
