Because with the pigs winning smegson still has a job and with smegson in charge the less chance the pigs have of going up, maybe DW thought he can handle one team challenging with new manager syndrome but not two. If the rumours were correct defeat for the pigs sunday would have meant the axe for smeggy and a new guy was ready and waiting. Now the way DW may have looked at it is we are in the driving seat whatever the result and yes it may be a risk but a defeat that doesn't affect the goal difference to much we can probably live with providing we win wednesday night.

Or maybe wilson is a secret pig agent

The only crumb of comfort I have taken from Sunday is that they are stuck with that Ginger whinger just that bit longer....it's all part of Agen Wilson's big plan I tell thee....!

It's horse, bull or dog. One of them anyway

For example, I think Hudds are in better shape to challenge with Grayson in charge now. Been there, seen it, done it.
There was a distinct possibility that Neil Warnock could have had that job as well.
Methinks your proposition is tainted with something

And what might that be?

Not a chance davidpinder! But its a nice thought.

Wilson wanted to get the win, just underestimated the pigs coming out in the 2nd half like they did and whilst he had faith in the starting 11 (unlike any of our managers back as far as NW) it didn't work and we got punished for not tracking back (Quinn) and OGrady had a virtually free header. Goal was coming but he tried to ride it out, without making a change when they were tails up. Didn't work.

The game was in our hands until Willo got the knock and in the time he spent running it off we regrouped instead of pushing on.

Once they scored it was always going to be 11 men behind the ball for them. We failed to break them down.

The subs were left too late the game went flat 20 minutes before they scored megson saw it and made sub changes they scored .
Even after the goal DW stood fast, the team woke up with our subs but at 85 and 86 minutes that is asking the players that haven't been into the flow of the game, to turn it around in 5 minutes.
Wait so late and yes they will have 11 men back behind the ball we had time to break them down but not in 5 minutes.
For me I hate to say it but megson won the day for them.

if it makes you feel better Dave.. :D
honestly, some people have been watching too much CSI

Funnily enough I got an email from a Man City fan who was listening to it on the radio and he asked me if we deliberately lost it to keep Megson in a job as he is universally thought to be shite :@(

If we'd won, that would have been the second time this season that someone is fired after losing to us. Second time in a month, in fact.
