Takeover

Surely they know what the financials would be with or without promotion more or less? It's not a mystery

It could, could affect the amount of debt left with the club or repaid by the Prince due to any significant change in future income.

Please note my use of the words “may” and “could”. That’s because l’m pondering a scenario rather than specifically attempting to argue a position like you are doing based on zero relevant information.

See above about the different price paid. Any budget for the recruitment will be vastly different depending on what division we are in.

Shurrup. It’s black and white, there’s no mystery even though we know virtually nothing about it.

Is it beyond the realms of any takeovers to have a set price if we stay down and another if we go up?! I don't often negotiate multi million deals but it doesn't seem that hard to work it out?!
Should be easy , yes.
I had assumed the £115m was a 'gamble' take-it now offer. Based on we would be worth less as championship and more as prem.
Based on no facts, just the timing and rumoured price.

When he first came on the scene he used to write some decent fan articles in the Star if I recall.

But he just has such a slant on the Prince and his involvement that, for me at least, it spoils the reading. I also don't find lines insulting your readership, if they disagree with your angle, particularly endearing.

The Prince's only failings are he's perhaps not rich enough personally to sustain a top flight team on his own.

In terms of backing the manager 120m in fees plus whatever wages was beyond my expectations.

In terms of responsibility, structuring the club to make two consecutive profits isn't at all bad.

In terms of the summer, there was no mass exodus of contracted players, so I can understand a desire not to add to the payroll permanently. Surely this commitment goes hand in hand with many on contract players leaving, which wasn't the case?

His choice of manager in the summer was the guy everyone remembered from his successful Fulham team. He was brave to make the change when he did and this is one game away from paying off. If he'd gone for Hecky, "the cheap option" would have been bandied around quick smart.

He fell out with Wilder is one narrative but Wilder was spoiling for a fight. His public comments were certainly not in keeping with what I want to hear from the club rep and to me were unprofessional and disrespectful. Airing laundry in public is never a nice look. Likewise all players were Chris'. If they weren't good enough that was on him. Just asking for more to fix it and throwing good money after bad made no sense and was an example of him not accepting the reality of the situation i.e. such an abject start didn't warrant millions in short term wages chasing an impossible turnaround. In short he'd or we'd fucked it and it was time to turn attention to next season.

What a great post. That pretty much sums up my view almost word for word 👏👏👏

Yes..easy to define 2 prices on being in two different leagues..course it is.
Calculating the offer value is down to the bidder and is hard.
But the definition in an offer contract of X for prem, y for champ isn't hard.

Have you taken into account increased contract demands, paying players off, the level of profit/loss in the current financial year? Any of that without knowing anything, Other than price the Prince has stated is wrong? We aren’t deciding on buying one or two pints of milk here. . Why do you think takeovers can be long and drawn out, as due diligence digs deeper then things can change.

The Derby deal is a perfect example, stalled because of lease issues surrounding the ground which a bidder wasn’t initially aware of, but no, this is United, everyone in a high position is useless and couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo.

Now, green or red or that vegan stuff made from privet ?

Yes complex regardless of which league. I didn't say otherwise.
Do you think it's simpler for a bidder to make a purchase not knowing if he's getting a prem team or a championship team?

It's like watching IPL today. GT needed 6 off the last ball to win. I had backed them to win and cashed out with a 2p loss lol! Good choice as they lost to MI. I'd have doubled my modest bet had I won.
So potential buyer offers reportedly £115m. Is that take it now, you may get promoted and that's great for me at this price, plus you're quids in from your input, or if you don't want this deal now, I'm offski and good luck.
Interesting times.....

We’re going to be in a difficult situation regarding summer signings.
We don’t know if we are rebuilding for PL, signings to fight int Championship, budget for either due to takeover (or not).
We should have rumours by the dozen by now but nowt other than player suggestions (that should be banned, they are not rumours 😡).

We will know a current, realistic Championship budget.

We'll also know a projected, realistic Premier League budget.

As it stands we don't know which one we will use (probability suggests Championship, but COYB).

You're thinking we might not know if the transfer budget is mega-money? IF that ever happened it would be a bonus - I don't think we can be annoyed that someone hasn't handed us a transfer warchest at exactly the most convenient time for planning purposes.

Not annoyed bb, more frustrated, I love the rumours and signings seeing our next team / squad develop ready for next season. I hate the closed season the transfers are some light relief.

way too early for it really. Can't really do anything solid until we know where we'll be

We know where we'll be cashwise .... underfunded (skint)! Believe takeover when (if) ot happens. Meanwhile other clubs will be scanning the market ... while we wait. Sorry just don't rate current owner. UTB

Sorry, but you can't have it both ways. Fans would be complaining had we not achieved the playoffs. Now we have, fans complain that we will not be acting quick enough to get our targets in. This is what annoyes me about Klopp. He's always complaining about the number of games he has to play and the number of outstanding games they have to rearrange.. That is the penalty for being successful. For us, we just have to wait a few more weeks before we can move and to know which direction that is; Premier, or Championship. Due to our recent success, we just need to be a little more patient. Yes, other manager have a head start, but I bet they would love to swop their position for ours.

Would you rather have had McCabe or the people he was lining us up to sell to, you know the guys who are assett stripping Burnley?
Should be grateful for small mercies
The owners who took over Newcastle and own the likes of Man City are not readily available.
We could of course had owners like Derby and Wednesday?
Instead we have a guy who supported his manager as far as he possibly could, running a tight ship and not spending money that we had not got, whilst putting the ground and other assetts back into our ownership.

We have to wait as you should be aware we dont know what division we will be in
Do you want us to go out agreeing PL contracts then lose in the Play Offs ?
Really good business sesnse that is
What is the current owner supposed to do in these circumstances ?
Please enlighten me
I really cant wait for your answer
