Bit of an upfate from the Mrs. (sports journo) Everyone is hearing the same thing, efl gave the go ahead for the sale last Thursday with Mauriss, Balls in HRH’s court. Others have table bids since. Seems he is stalling now. Wants the season finished as the price will be alot higher should we get promoted. Expect this to be dragged on through another couple of weeks cos of the playoffs.

The fact the EFL have given the go ahead means we still can't confirm whether Mauriss actually exists.

No a fact, we are not discussing the quality of the player.

Because you consider yourself to be Harry Enfield is no reason why your opinion is more valid.

In all honesty you are possibly wrong on that count as well
So you can't find anything that I have said that is factually incorrect?

Well the timing of EFL ratifying the deal and the resulting delaying tactics from HRH both align the PH's comments about needing certainty for next season and allow contracts to be agreed (Bash) and recruitment to progress.

Such unbridled hatred of the Prince!

The line "laughably called game-changing by McCabe" is funny. Had McCabe stayed in charge, there would be no such thing.

Am I right in thinking the £115m (or whatever it ends up being) doesn't include the back of the Kop land along Shoreham Street that is still owned by McCabe?

I'm not forgetting anything but the Prince didn't take over until we were promoted to the Premier league.

That's a fact, not an opinion.

Up until then it was a partnership and nothing could happen without the agreement of both parties.

Some people seem so desperate to lick the prince's arse and diss McCabe that they'll say anything to support their opinion.

If you do deal in facts, one which you Haven’t mentioned is the Princes intention to buy the McCabes shares for £5m back in January 2019, after McCabes notice the month before. We weren’t a PL club then. We’re all aware, let me rephrase, some us are aware of the machinations - on both sides - which led to the court battle after promotion. There are those interacting on this thread who believe and have stated that neither owner has ever funded United significantly based on “what l’ve been told” rather than what the facts are at Companies House. Neither are the assetstripping devil they are portrayed by some. McCabes ticket pricing policies helped grow our attending fan base and HRH has brought the ground back into club ownership. (Something you seem disappointed with btw) Yes it’s mortgaged but we owed Scarborough substantial sums reduced by them taking the property assets as security. Swings and roundabouts.

Here’s an example

“I believe the prince put in some initial funds at the start which would cover any agreement initially, obviously he would then have to keep investing over the seasons, I am told he has not, KM has been investing over the past few years and the prince has not matched this investment. KM has been trying to get rid of him for years but this has only come to light now because of the prince triggering this clause but this is not a new thing, they have been at loggerheads for a few years now.”

1. Kevin McCabe triggered the clause
2. Kevs own words from the OS

Idiots on both sides unfortunately.

I think thats about right mate. Both owners did play a part in building a decent club . McCabes ticket pricing regarding youngsters really worked in building a new fan base and the princes bringing ownership back to the club are all good decisions that in the long term are bound to pay off. I think McCabes ticket policies are already bearing fruit .

It was obvious he did, to anyone who could understand that the Prince would have actually met this guy and done his own due diligence.

We have got off lightly when you look around at clubs who thought they had a dream owner taking over their club only for it to be a nightmare . Do hope who ever takes our club over they don,t discourage youngsters from attending matches by raising kids prices . In this day and age money in tight for a lot of families we must remember these are the future life blood of the club.

When he first came on the scene he used to write some decent fan articles in the Star if I recall.

But he just has such a slant on the Prince and his involvement that, for me at least, it spoils the reading. I also don't find lines insulting your readership, if they disagree with your angle, particularly endearing.

The Prince's only failings are he's perhaps not rich enough personally to sustain a top flight team on his own.

In terms of backing the manager 120m in fees plus whatever wages was beyond my expectations.

In terms of responsibility, structuring the club to make two consecutive profits isn't at all bad.

In terms of the summer, there was no mass exodus of contracted players, so I can understand a desire not to add to the payroll permanently. Surely this commitment goes hand in hand with many on contract players leaving, which wasn't the case?

His choice of manager in the summer was the guy everyone remembered from his successful Fulham team. He was brave to make the change when he did and this is one game away from paying off. If he'd gone for Hecky, "the cheap option" would have been bandied around quick smart.

He fell out with Wilder is one narrative but Wilder was spoiling for a fight. His public comments were certainly not in keeping with what I want to hear from the club rep and to me were unprofessional and disrespectful. Airing laundry in public is never a nice look. Likewise all players were Chris'. If they weren't good enough that was on him. Just asking for more to fix it and throwing good money after bad made no sense and was an example of him not accepting the reality of the situation i.e. such an abject start didn't warrant millions in short term wages chasing an impossible turnaround. In short he'd or we'd fucked it and it was time to turn attention to next season.
Spot on. Have a like. 👍

Not as such, I don't expect it on account of I don't expect us to be in the play-offs.

Same here. However l did think it related to the earth shattering revelation that any deal* would probably be on hold until the possible promotion is settled.

*real, imagined or click bait.

Is it beyond the realms of any takeovers to have a set price if we stay down and another if we go up?! I don't often negotiate multi million deals but it doesn't seem that hard to work it out?!

I’d imagine any debt issues may change.

Even McCabe managed that with alk
The championship price was exactly the sane as the one mauriss has been quited as meeting

Perhaps that deal has been done but it’s being kept quiet so as not to cause uncertainty at the club at this stage in the season?

Seems nobody has told the manager if you listen to his press conferences... and that is the main source of uncertainty right now as he doesn't have a clue what budget he has to start with

See above about the different price paid. Any budget for the recruitment will be vastly different depending on what division we are in.
