There’s no agenda. McBurnie just isn’t very good at football.
So all the goals he scored whilst at Swansea were just accidents? Or were they playing the blind school every week?

I just listened to that too. I’ve never disagreed more with anything George Elek has said in the 3 years I’ve been listening to them.Just listened to the Not the top 20 podcast and they seem to really rate Mcburnie. Actually say we look a better attacking force with Mcburnie up top than Sharp. Also say Mcburnie suits MGW better than Sharp

Looked like he knew what he was doing when he threaded it through 3 bodies to MGW at the end of the first half on SaturdayGiving everything and not having a clue what to do with the ball when he gets it.
Mcburnie put two on a plate for his strike partner. Won most of his aerial duels and kept the ball the majority of the time. Did his job. Another day we win 3-0 and people are commending him on his performance. He could be more of a threat, though: he doesn't make the vertical runs that get you goals. Still he headed one down that was cleared in the six yard box and attempted a diving header. More of that is needed - that's how you get goals, making those types of movements
.
A much bigger problem in the last two games is the lack of midfield runners getting in the box. If it's not Gibbs white, it's nobody. It's Imperative when you play one striker, whose primary role is to link, win flick ons and arrive late in the box that you have players that will run beyond. You can't win your own header, control your own pass and then arrive to finish off a move. Seemingly what a lot of people expect. If the midfielders can't or wont do it, you play two strikers. You could have Ibrahimović and Gibbs white and you'll still struggle as you are constantly outnumbered. I was a bit disappointed to see only one striker throughout the game as we know that Bournemouth like to build up, and that they are very much "pressable". Say what you want about Jebbo, but he's quick. He can stretch a game and defend from the front. The few times we did it resulted in turn overs, and throw ins as the goalkeeper slashed into John Street or the South Stand.
All that said, the manager would doubtless argue that we had the better chances and our midfielders are too poor defensively to go two with one behind.
Another thing: pace is not a requirement to score goals in football. It helps you score certain types of goals, but no, it's not a requirement to have even the average pace of a professional footballer.

You let a team have the ball to the half way line constantly, playing the ball about, and you kill the atmosphere.

That was years ago. How many of their games did you watch? So all the goals he scored whilst at Swansea were just accidents? Or were they playing the blind school every week?

To be fair, they're a couple of posh boys who said a few weeks ago that Chris Wilder was the best manager in world football. Not sure anything they say from that point forwards can be taken very seriously.Just listened to the Not the top 20 podcast and they seem to really rate Mcburnie. Actually say we look a better attacking force with Mcburnie up top than Sharp. Also say Mcburnie suits MGW better than Sharp
Why not? Lots of players showed early promise and then faded away.Few. The point is that someone does not score that many if someone "just isn't very good at football"
Dillises team to ream Reading...Are we just going to slag Mcburnie and ignore the two sitters MGW missed then? There is a a definite agenda against Mcburnie.
My point is that these two work and are generally improving every game, as we move into the play-offs this could be huge.
Its all the goals he aint scoring for us thays the problemSo all the goals he scored whilst at Swansea were just accidents? Or were they playing the blind school every week?
Just suggesting what you said was bollocks, thanks for confirmingIt was a good pass.
But Baldock has scored arguably goal of the season. Are you suggesting we put him up front?
One swallow does not a summer make
StrikerMcB is our only fit senior striker currently so he will start until Billy is available at the very least. Any understanding he can build with MGW in training and games will soften the blow of Billy being out. Worrying me more is if McB goes down again we’re only left with the kids. This has the feel of the season when we only had Craig Beattie left standing for the play offs
Forward then, the point remains he’s the only fit senior one we haveStriker![]()
Ok mate. Yet more solid reasoning.Just suggesting what you said was bollocks, thanks for confirming
I made one small point to break what you said apart, it worked. Can move along with your day now buddyOk mate. Yet more solid reasoning.
You continue to ignore the game after game of dross he’s produced if it makes you happy.
Why not? Lots of players showed early promise and then faded away.
To the same point, you can’t ignore what he’s done for us and it’s very little. He’s putting the effort in but not achieving much. I just don’t rate him at all, but appreciate some do.
At this point McBurnie's goals in 2018-19 are about as relevant as Clarke's in 2017-18, i.e. not very relevant. This 100%. Scott Hogan had a great scoring record for 2 or 3 years but has never reached those heights again, Leon Clarke scored 9 goals for us in 2 games but only a further 10 goals in all the other games that season. Sometimes players just hit a purple patch, it doesn't necessarily mean they will be able to reproduce that time and time again.
Across all levels of sport the best players aren't necessarily the ones with the most skill, but instead they are the ones who can apply the most skill consistently.
Haha ok sure.I made one small point to break what you said apart, it worked. Can move along with your day now buddy![]()

Can't deny - its fucking atrocious man..Agreed^^^^^
Cant deny 27 apps in the league and 0 goals isn't good for any striker and he does need to chip in though who cares if its a 90th minute winner with his jebend at Wembley
Though the vast majority of those games were half-fit starts or 10 minute cameos
Interesting that in the player ratings thread where a lot of people contribute and you get a much more balanced view McBurnie is slightly ahead of MGW.
Who'd have thought it eh? Seems like the McB haters like to shout the loudest........................................ empty vessels make more noise. No doubt these haters will be scrambling over to that thread to give McBurnie a ridiculously low mark to prove their point.
Exactly no ratings needed -Cant be arsed with doing the player ratings but there's no hope for anyone who thinks mcburnie is better than mgw....
