Soooo basically.....

I am the same as before having read this, as I am still unawares as to whether it is a positive or a negative 😂😂
I think its a negative. It is being done to try and raise capital. Why the capital is being raised is the real question. I suspect it is to pay off debt.

I guess that is how we have come to be programmed as blades.

I was under the assumption that all debts would be covered by parachutes etc?

At present nothing has changed the club is still worth the same today as it was yesterday the prince has just divided that wealth into smaller pieces than it was yesterday but he still holds all those pieces.

Each share is worth less now because there’s more of them but the value of the whole is still the same. The change will come when/if someone pays the prince to own some of these new shares.

In effect we’ll have a new minority share holder and then it becomes a game of watch the money to try and work out what the money for those shares is being used to finance.

My laymans term view is that:

PA owns the club and if he then issues £14.5m shares, then it is to either raise capital to pay debt or raise capital for investment.

However, in order to raise the capital, someone has to buy those shares

Anyone have any ideas?

Consider the shenanigans regarding of the takeover from McCabe where the Prince tried to move shares into newly set up company to avoid the obligation of buying the ground etc.
Then later funding that purchase from the club it self. That leads me to believe that the Prince does not have much money. Parachutes apparently have been used for loan repayment etc. But how much did we lose last season and how have the transfers been funded.

As a newish member let me give you some advice. Never admit you don’t know. It’s treated as a weakness. The standard opinion is that it’s used to finance United World Holdings Lt/San Francisco49rs/ anyone else.

It’s not all bad news though Bladedownsouth, the fact you don’t understand should not be a barrier to pontificating, spout away to your heart’s content. By tomorrow everyone will have forgotten what you said, so you can repeat it then. Alternatively, change your mind and say exactly the opposite, but claim to be right under all circumstances.

This is the founding principle of Shoutbox, on there, everybody’s an expert on everything, including SUFC finances, as you may have seen on there today.

So it seems that everyone understands the reasons that a company can do a share issue, but its taken 2 pages and nobody knows the reason we've done it :D

I guess we need to wait and see.... or maybe not see... perhaps the prince is just bored and wanting to get a 10 page thread on this forum by the weekend just for shits and giggles.

So the club through the prince is now 14.5 m better off or we are skint ,is that about it .

Anybody would think a Saudi royal business man who built the middle East's biggest paper and tissue company up hasn't got a plan 😂

The only thing I am an expert on is shoutbox.

Well they were issued to hrh so one way or another he's coughed 14.5 m ,I'd presume to invest in a cat 1 academy seeing that's the way the club's going .

That would be good, but not sure tbh?

We haven't got a site yet so I'm not convinced

Throw in the fact that Berge, Mousset and Burke didn't get sold to pay off the so called financial shortfall the club has, add in the loans that were brought forward against future parachute payments because of cashflow issues and I guess we might be potless, so we'll just have to wait and see

Why is that necessarily a negative?

What makes you think we’ll have a new minority shareholder? Just for the FC? Not Blades Leisure)

(Not saying you’re wrong, just why you think that)

Are you sure they were issued to HRH personally? More likely Blades Leisure or iIMO less likely, a third party.

Expect El Accounto to do a live, twitter broadcast from Bramall Lane car park to reassure everyone that the finances are absolutely fine, we are in great hands with HRH whilst in the background a Bailiff is walking out of the players entrance with Iliman Ndiaye under one arm and a bin liner full of Heckys designer clobber in another.

I’m assuming we’ve issued the shares to raise capital and so will be seeking at least some of the newly generated shares to a third party. As I understand it blades leisure is in the princes control and seeing as there’s nothing to stop the prince putting in his own money anyway generating additional share would seem an unnecessary extra step in the process.

Only way the prince putting in money via the extra step of generating shares makes sense is if we’re sailing close to the wind with FFP and that would seem unlikely given we’ve spent relatively little in fees and recouped a fairly sizeable sale back. Wages will be high but parachute payments and this being our first year out of the prem should be we’re in a decent spot FFP wise.
