Yes he is comfortable on the ball and that really is it, he has a heart the size of a peaHe is the most comfortable player on the ball that I have seen playing for the Blades in a very long time. And if you can't see that may I politely suggest you take up painting by numbers, Train spotting or making Tick Tick Videos because football is certainly not your forte..
Play him with Norwood. He’s undroppable at the moment. Norwood to the left, Sander on the right so he can drive and make the forward runs down the flank.Yeah, I’d probably be inclined to keep him in the team now. Who would you play alongside him?
“Here I am, stuck in the middle with you”….Norwood to the left, Sander on the right
I have long admired Berge for his football skills, and I still believe that his pace is deceptive. He continues to glide past opposition players with languid ease. His height and his style leave other players in his wake and dumbfounded. It may look slow but that’s the beauty of it. He contains his real acceleration with the appearance of being slower than he is in reality. It’s a neat trick, or a gift.Man alive, he gets praised to the skies far too easily.
He had a good second half today - apart from the sitter he missed - and put in a very good assist for the equaliser, but his fan club continue to see things that aren't there.
For a start - and this is not his personal fault - he is deceptively slow. He does glide around like you'd expect a good player to do, but it's like three-quarter pace. This will be his problem moving forward to another team in a major league, unless someone can find a position for him on the field that suits him and I doubt that's the right side of a midfield three.
You can tell a lot about Fallowfield's arrogance by the superior tone in his posts. You can tell a lot about whether someone knows much about football by whether they think Berge is rubbish or not![]()
I suspect most fans judge Billy Sharp on his 102 goals in 232 games over the last 7 seasons. This will be his fifth , double digit season in that time.Well we signed him almost bang on 2 years ago and he has been injured for about a year so I don’t think that’s a fair assessment
Again if you judge players against there price tag you will be disappointed
Maybe that’s why billy sharp is judged as Pele because there judging him against his transfer fee![]()
Do you only get notifications for goals scored from open play? None of my apps have that option…You wouldn’t need that much of a great internet connection to receive notifications of billy sharp scoring
6 goals in 26 from open play in the league

FWIW, I think Wilder identified that Norwood was always going to find the "cut and thrust" of premier league midfields a bit of a challenge. What we needed in there was a big, physical lad who can cover the ground and play a bit. Most premier league teams have one.I have always been curious what Wilder’s plan was for Sander when he bought him.

Sander is being judged on 41 appearences over 2 years. How many of those games has he had a significant impact on? 3? maybe 4, if we are being generous.
As many have stated, he's got a good first touch, and at times looks a real threat on the ball, but he rarely has much positive influence on the game. If he was an academy graduate who had cost nothing, we'd mostly be saying it's about time he made the step up at 23 years old.
When I read this I just started saying it like this in my headA lot of Unitedites judged Billy as shit or not up to it his first spell with us and now are doing the same with Berge
The problem wasn’t Billy or isn’t Berge, it’s the fans and their expectations of what players should be at the time
Berge will likely move on, he likely will continue turning out for Norway, might play in a few big tournaments who knows
He might play for a top club in Europe, he might not, he might play in a middling team in a top division in Europe like German or Spain or he might end up playing in Holland or Belgium( me personally I think it will be former but who knows right now)
But he will play wherever due to his ability and not because he didn’t fit in with the Blades way or the Blades expectations because our way doesn’t really matter to anyone else
We paid £25m for him - that does and should come with expectation. The problem wasn’t Billy or isn’t Berge, it’s the fans and their expectations of what players should be at the time

But any case, he’s failed to became a regular so far. That’s not about expectation, it’s simply about other average division two footballers performing better than him.
We dont expect the next Zidane ,but the when he is absolutely nowhere near the next Chris Basham or Paul Coutts ,at over 20 million then questions can be asked. If you paid 25 million for a CB that doesn’t mean you expect him to be the next Zidane
We bought a Cdm/CM and somehow due to the price people seem to think if the lad isn’t playing like Zidane then he is a bust

Do you think he has been a success ? We have just won the first game he has started in nearly 2 years.
When he has played at CDM (excuse no 395) we have been hammered , his work rate ,tackling and heading ability make him a liability there ,he doesnt even have good distribution. If anything he has to play where he can run at defence further up ,but he hasnt been anywhere near good enough to warrant shoehorning into the team.I haven’t seen him playing enough at CDM to judge him as a success, as that seems to be what he was brought in for
Why he is being asked to play out of position and yet be the pivotal focus for success I don’t know
Has he been a success filling in at other positions, probably not, but thankfully for him I’m guessing, his national manager and future employers won’t be judging him on can you play like Coutts or Monty, and that’s not a knock on either of them either

For me, Berge showed tonight why he should be in the team.
The lad ghosted past players today- something he has been criticised for not doing.
The lad showed some tidy bits of play and retained possession in tight spaces.
The pass to Billy, QUALITY. Again, I've seen the lad being criticised on here for not playing through balls or passes that slice open defences etc.
Ger im int team and leave him there.
Let’s reduce the hyperbole. If you pay £25m for a player, you’d expect him to be a regular in a 2nd division team.If you paid 25 million for a CB that doesn’t mean you expect him to be the next Zidane

The same stuff the current and previous managers were taking, presumably.Well mate your entitled to your view of course, I’m not sure what you were taking when you came to your conclusions but fair enough

To not expect that would be utterly ridiculous, not the other way around.
Separately, the fact that he hasn’t commanded that place is down to him, and the managers appraisal of his performance. It’s got nothing to do with expectation.
The same stuff the current and previous managers were taking, presumably.
So following that through, if we spend £200m on a midfielder, we still shouldn't expect him to dominate that position?Yes you would expect that, I mean it’s not like he wasn’t starting every game due to other issues but let’s not digress
To expect someone to dominate a position simply because of a price tag or a bunch of armchair fergies sat on Kop/South or at home/ pub is just as ridiculous IMO
If the manager doesn’t want to play him In the role he was brought in for then that’s just what it is, at some point that will come to a head for sure
